What material is the Gold Rods made of (i.e. matel or plastic) if matel, do you think they will discolor/rust/chip?

The plates are a glazed porcelain/clay. The handle is metal (so may rust). They seem good value and sturdy (though I wouldn’t recommend carrying them by the handle without supporting the bottom plate)
