Stohlquist Coaster Personal Flotation Device

$53!!! This is a great PFD. Slim, highly adjustable. The pockets have a lot of room and have several nice features like a drink pocket (it’s can sized and shaped), key loop inside the pocket, lined phone pocket. I’m really impressed.

Good quality PFD. Got it recently for a new kayak in my life. Was a little less expensive than many I saw online, but it has performed very well. As far as fit- it is comfortable and has straps on the top, side and side diagonal. It sits rather high, as designed, so it doesn't interfere with your boat's seat back I imagine, but you can loosen the top straps and lower it on your torso if desired. It was a little snug at first, probably by design also, but I was able to loosen the side straps an inch or so and adjusted it to my liking. The red is a nice color, and looks good.In terms of pockets, it has two decent size ones on the front, with good quality zippers and okay seal. There is a little mess inner pocket as well, but overall the volume isn't there so I can fit my iphone6 (in a plastic sealed bag), my keys and my ID in one side, but that's about it. You're not going to fit a tuna sandwich in one likely, it's not that big. Overall I might have wanted one with bigger or a couple more pockets, but am quite happy with this one otherwise.

This fits great, though I am nearly maxing it out at my size, 6'5" and 310 lbs, the first thing I did was let out the straps all the way and then put it on. I cinched it up a bit and it still felt like it was hardly there. Soft and pliable ...and thin, unlike other designs which tend to be more blocky (especially at the back) and too firm on top of being too chunky. The Red Color is nice and vibrant, which was important to me for safety, being visible to boaters going 50 MPH on the river with a skiier. Aside from buying a red canoe, sitting up tall in it with this red PFD on me is going to be the most visible thing to them.I'd read other reviews about quality PFD's from Stohlquist and how they perform in the water, namely by not riding up and preventing the user from being able to see or be comfortable, which I am familiar with from cheap PFD's, but I have not had a chance to do a float test in it yet.FIT and FEEL are Awesome though, along with the style/color being great. :)

Works perfect for kayaking in both paddle and peddle mode on our 2016 Hobie Oasis Tandem. Got a medium for my wife who says fits here with no issues and a large for me. I have not tested it but we don't have a doubt they would do their job as a floatation device and keep us safe. The pockets are nice too.

I had purchased a Stohlquist previously and it is comfortable and well made. So I decided I needed a new floatation device with pockets since I'm using it to sail a small Hobie Wave catamaran. I bought this one only to find out it was twice as bulky and I wouldn't be as agile on a catamaran. It's also well made but I ended up returning it.
