1 gal Ready Seal 105 Natural (Light Oak) Exterior Stain and Sealer For Wood

This is an unbiased review. This product is EXCELLENT! Best stain BY FAR that I’ve ever used. Goes on easy, does not blotch and absorbs in the wood EVENLY providing a great pattern. Applied to 1 yr old redwood deck. Sanded first, pressure washed, then let dry for 3 days. Used a brush taped to a pole for gaps between boards, then a 4 inch wide 1/2” nap roller. Couldn’t use a sprayer due to wind. Very very easy app. OAll I can say is wow- a product that actually does what it claims!

The media could not be loaded. This stuff is amazing! My parents turned me on to this after using it to stain and seal their log cabin in the mountains of Colorado. I wanted to re-stain my weathered wood fence and it did NOT disappoint!! I chose the dark walnut because I wanted dark without being too dark- it's beautiful and you can still see the wood grains. I did power wash the grey and old stain off the wood first but then it made perfect clean canvas to stain a new colour. I did use a power sprayer and that made it go faster but even in the parts I hand painted it was still so easy and literally goof-proof. Highly Reccomend!

I used the natural cedar in an electric sprayer. My deck is new fresh sawn larch (tamarack) and 20 year old pressure treated pine. I followed the instructions bleached the whole deck let it dry for half the summer. Moisture meter got down to 15-18%% on all of it. Not ideal. I sprayed on a 5 gallon pail it soaked into the old wood and disappeared instantly. It mostly sat on top of the new wood. I used some old towels and simply rubbed the stain all over the deck. Old school staining techniques.The stain dried where you didn't get any color on your socks in a few hours. It appears oily if that's an accurate word a month later. Water beads up on it. The rough sawn larch looks like it does when wet which is the color I wanted. Couldn't be happier. The older wood didn't change color much if at all. So be aware this stuff is not paint. It's simply an oil stain.The instructions are clear about the moisture. My deck was too wet to stain but mopping it on worked with no residue. I didn't want the deck to sit exposed all winter with no oil on it. I didn't apply a 2nd coat there's no way.Overall I'm very happy with the color and how it went on. No streaks . I strongly recommend a sprayer I was able to paint my whole deck including the railings both sides and get cleaned up in about 4 hours. Not happing in a whole weekend with a brush. The deck is about 3200 sq/ft floor area, plus all the railings and raised beds. Because it didn't really soak in I used 10 gallons it covered it all. The dryer sections took more.Because it's easy to use and dries fast, plan on reapplying every year and you won't be disappointed. No stain lasts forever.

The oil base stain works well on my deck. Looks fantastic. Easy to apply with deck brush that I purchased from Amazon.

I love this stain. This is my 2nd order. It goes on easy and looks great. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because my 2nd order the can was so dented up that it was leaking. It was left on my front steps staining my wooden steps a color they are not. But this isn't Amazon's fault, its the delivery. I called Amazon because sending it back for a replacement wasn't an option while it was leaking. They refunded me right away.

We have a deck with cedar railing and framing and doug fir boards. We get hot sun 300 days a year and lots of wind. We also get snow in the winter. Our deck is south facing and has no shelter. After two years of our old stain, the entire deck was extremely weathered and dry. We cleaned the deck with a cleaner and brightener and let it dry for two days before staining. I cannot even tell you how impressed I am with this stain. The cedar color is beautiful and blends the cedar and doug fir. It leaves a smooth finish that is a little glossy. It brought life back to our deck. A week after we stained, a storm rolled through and soaked our deck. The water beaded up on the boards. A little stain goes a long way. We bought 1x 5 gallon and it covered about 600 sq ft of deck plus the railing. We followed the instructions only applying thin coats and there was no excess to mop up. It wasn’t sticky and dried quickly. We will never buy a different stain.
