Perfectly serves it's purpose!
I was pretty worried about ordering this because of the negative reviews and I rarely leave reviews. I was compelled to leave one because I think the other reviews are unfair. Will it last forever? Probably not, but it's almost 1/3 the cost of the others and works perfectly for what I need. I just need to practice with it for a short time and for around $13 I really could find no fault with it! The base is made of some kind of almost poster board like material, but I really don't mind it at all! When practicing surgical knots and before graduating to the real thing, this will you get there!

You get what you pay for
I really wanted to like this practice board. Sadly, you get what you pay for. The suction cups to hold it down do not work. It doesn’t stay put when trying to tie. The idea is great it’s just very cheaply made and ultimately doesn’t do what it is supposed to. You’re better off buying a suture practice kit and just practicing with real suture.

No suction, no tying
The suction cups on this thing are terrible, and the product is so lightweight that without the suction cups to anchor everything moves around and you're basically just tying rope in air. It's a cheap little product to begin with, which is fine when you know that's what you're buying, like I initially did, but when a key component doesn't work it basically renders the whole thing pretty useless

Made of cardboard, not plastic
Nowhere in the description does it say what it's made of. Most probably assume it's made of plastic, but the board is craft foamboard. You can leave indents on it with light pressure and your fingernail. I suppose it does the job, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. I bought this to keep in my backpack to practice during third year in between cases. There's no way this will withstand being left in a backpack though.
