If you buy this you probably already have invested in other Milwaukee tools, so you know what you are getting. So I will go with the specifics on this particular grinder: First, it cuts or grinds as well as a corded grinder. In fact, I have found I grab it first because I don't have a cord to deal with. It is powerful and balanced. I believe I actually have more control of it than with my corded Milwaukee 4.5" grinder. Second, it has a brake system that stops the cutting/grinding wheel quickly when you release the trigger. This is much safer in general, and specifically allows you to set the tool down on your welding table without the wheel spinning and either scooting the tool into the floor or throwing tools or metal pieces around. Also will add the lock to use when changing wheels works nicely. I can change them with gloves on without hunting down the wrench. It also has a clip-on plastic guard that goes over the regular guard that I believe covers more when using a cutting disc. Nice to have, but it is another thing to keep track of. So I am pretty happy with it, the best part is I can carry it out into the field where there is no corded power and cut or grind something, which is it's greatest function. Battery life seems good to excellent, but honestly I keep several charged batteries around, I am comfortable with the whole M18 system, but this tool doesn't appear to use a battery any more than my other tools, that includes a number of tools such as drivers, drills, sander, impact, and Sawzall.

I like the size of the grinder kind of compact, but I was expecting more power, and I wish it has kick back protection technology as a standard, and all kinds of grinders and I have it come with a quick release, looking mechanism for the disc which is I buy it individually and I use it on the grinder.
