The best for cat collars
I purchased several different holders for my cats, to see which is best. This one is the one I kept because the airtag is secure, it’s as small as possible & the back of it fits the best on the skinny cat collars. The other one’s slide-on is too wide and they’re bulkier & claws can get stuck in them when they’re scratching themselves. This is best!

Too bulky to use on a cat
Loved the minimalist and light holder, with holes in it to reduce the weight, but mounting this on a cat collar using the two side holes (as designed) results in the AirTag ending up under the cat’s chin, against their throat, and it is too bulky to be comfortable for them. What a pity the vendor does not offer this holder with a single hole and a small split ring, so that it becomes a pendulum. Had to order a competitor’s holder (on the left of the photo) which worked perfectly, as the pendulum ends up hanging on the cat’s chest. This is WAY more comfortable for the cat, given the size and weight of an AirTag but I couldn’t find one with the web-like holes in the holder to make it lighter, so it is slightly heavier (still more comfortable to the cat though).

Perfect for any size pet
My biggest concern was if these would pull on my cats hair and make it uncomfortable for my cat. That is not the case at all. Second concern- would it look huge on my 4.5 lb chihuahua - absolutely not! My pets don’t even even notice the airtag holders on their collars. The AirTags fit in so snug that the thought doesn’t even cross my mind that they could fall out. Very happy with these and buying more as a gift.

Be Careful Using On Cat.
I put one of these on my dog and one on my cat. It’s working out great on the dog. He doesn’t even know it’s there. But, it turned out very badly for my cat. I’m sure that the type of cat and length of neck matter. On my cat, with properly fitted color, it was too big and caused a friction burn on the side of his neck. I figured this out on day 2 when I checked it. I removed it immediately, as well as the color. The blistered area where the tag holder rubbed has taken a long time to heal fully. It left a scar on his neck where the upper side of the tag holder rubbed. The fur won’t grow back there. I feel really guilty about scarring my baby. He has rather a short, thick, muscular neck. The tag kept sliding around to one spot on the side of his neck where the muscle is very pronounced. If you use this on a cat, check it twice a day and make sure it doesn’t settle or rub in any one place. I will replace it with a hanging tag holder. He’s a rescue cat who is supposed to be an indoor cat. But, he keeps trying to slip outside. So, I think the Air Tag is a great way to be sure he doesn’t get lost. This holder may work OK for a different cat. My cat is a black short haired Oriental type cat. This type of cat should have a breed name of its own. It’s a specific mutation that produces these cats. Being very muscular is one of their general traits.

Works great for cats!
I love this product! I have two indoor cats. We allowed them outside in our yard while being supervised but we also have a really busy household Lots of people in and out throughout the day. I wanted to try the AirTag as a pet tracker Bikini one of the kids leaves door open and cats will get out, but was concerned about having it hang off a collar for a cat due to the devices weight. This is the perfect solution For smaller animals that wear smaller collars.I’ve been using this for eight months now and have zero complaints. They look as good as when I pulled them out of the packaging for the first time.

Great size for a Malshi/Maltese/Shitzu or Puppy
I needed this for my Malshi, only 11 pds so I really hated the old one i had on him where it would flip and flop over because the part that went thru the collar was so huge. This one works great, and fits great, and is not loose at all. Love it!

Perfect for cat collars
I ordered these plus some that dangle like a tag to test both options for air tagging my cats. My boy hated the style that hangs down and immediately started chewing on it. I also worried about that style getting dunked in their water bowls frequently too even though air tags are supposedly water resistant. I saw someone mention that this style that slips on the collar caused a sore on their cat, but my guess is the cat’s collar was probably way too tight. I had to loosen mine up a bit after putting these on, and so far they’ve caused no issues whatsoever. They’ve worked really well on both my average size long hair (9lbs) and bigger short hair (16lbs), although I could see the potential for mats if you have a long hair. Mine hasn’t had any yet, but I give her scritches under it every day to check and make sure all is good. I’ve also seen mention of issues with eating. The tags do rotate to sit on the underside of their necks because of the weight, but neither of mine seem to have problems with eating because of it. I do use raised whisker sensitive bowls for them though, so maybe that helps prevent eating issues with the tags?
