Decent quality with good vent
Clearly in an attempt to comply with EPA, most modern gasoline containers are a nightmare. I would say we probably do more harm to the environment trying to make these things work, and in the process spill more gas or cause people to create more hazardous conditions trying to find a work a round. I've seen some absolutely crazy attempts that require an engineering degree to use, turn this and push that, and the thing leaks gasoline all over the place. Most vents don't seem to work, and you end up with some distorted tank that rolls across your boat like a football! This is a nice simple design that seems to work. A quarter turn to the vent, and clearly you can hear the air escaping. You might lose a little bit of gas if you're going over bumps down the highway, but at least the container will vent like it's supposed to. I do like the fact I can close it completely if I want to put in the back of my car on the way home, but then open up once I get it installed in my boat. And unless you're willing to spend hundreds of dollars on an aluminum tank with a good quality filter for venting, this represents a decent value for a tank that actually works! One other thing worth mentioning is the inlet filter. It didn't seem to me like it would block any fuel or restrict flow, but I have not put a lot of hours on mine. One other reviewer mentioned he was having some issues, so I may look at changing mind to be on the safe side, but so far I've not had any issues with fuel delivery. And also the manufacturer recommends storing this flat. Yet another reviewer gave a one star review because he wasn't following instructions and stored it vertically. The tank is designed to have an airspace only when stored flat so just follow the instructions. This tank has a pretty simple manual vent, and in fact if you turn it too much you can pull it completely out. Being an international design it doesn't have to comply with the EPA requirements, so it's also one of the reasons it works.I still really like this tank. Wish they had a model with a gauge, but I'm looking at an aftermarket sending unit, so can read from my console. Great price as well.

Good quality, but the pickup strainer is tiny and will clog easily.
I used this in my John boat with a 14 HP outboard. After running for a few minutes the engine started starving for fuel and sucking the primer bulb flat. I pulled the pickup and found a tiny spec of debris covering the strainer. Removed it, the boat ran fine for a few minutes before clogging again. The size of the strainer is a joke for the 3/8 line size. There also aren't any clamps on the pickup line inside the tank so the pickup could come loose and kill the engine that way. I'd recommend either replacing the strainer with a larger one or removing it and putting filter in the line in addition to adding clamps. Otherwise, the tank seems very well made. The pickup unscrews easily, so it's not a big deal to work on it.

Old school just works
This has a normal vent knob on the top of the fuel cap. Close the vent when transporting to prevent leaks. Once in the boat I just open the vent all the way and it operates normally. No blowing up like an EPA mandated balloon. No high pressure fuel blowing all over the floor of my boat. This works just like the tanks of ye olde boating days of yore. A+. I only wish they made a low profile 12 gallon version that would fit under the seat of my whaler.

Fuel tank's color prevents telling from how full it is.
While subtle, the chosen color of the tank prevents you from telling how full the tank is even using a light and other visual aids. This basically makes it useless compared to standard tanks when you need to know if it is filled to the maximum fill line.

Nice quality
It is nicely built, but you do have to loosen the vent screw a little or it blows up like a balloon. It does return to normal size when pressure is vented. I'm using it to power dual EU2200I generators.-DallanC

it seems to be what it was advertized to be. we'll see how well it holds up.
easy to carry and handle. Does the service we bought it to do. Wish it had a gauge.

Not the size I ordered but great tank overall!!!
Great tank! Not what I ordered. I had ordered the low profile 12 gallon. Was sent this higher profile tank. Will make sure with this one.

This is for a single line set up with fuel pump.
It works for my singe line set up no problems.
