A few years ago, I bought a small ranch on the eastern plains that contained a homestead house from the early 1900s. I was recently cleaning up along the fence line and I had a view of the old swing set in the side yard. I got to wondering if the kids that once lived here ever buried "treasure". Probably not, but there was sure to be a lot of fun stuff that has found its way into the ground over the decades. I had never used a metal detector, so I checked out options on the web. I was looking for something really simple and easy to use. I read reviews and settled on this one. It went together quickly and is very lightweight. The instruction booklet is clearly written. The display screen is bright and easy to read. And the price was reasonable. I did a test run with items I seeded just to check accuracy and it was pretty good. Then I played a little in the yard and turned up a lot of nails, but also a few metal parts from buckboards and wagons. I am looking forward to searching more as time permits and I am eager to give this a test run in shallow waters someday. And I am ever hopeful that treasure will turn up!

My husband and I bought this just for fun. We took it to the beach the other day and he forgot to bring the manual. He was able to figure it out fairly easy. It seemed to be pretty accurate. We found lots of nails, metal shards, and screws on the beach. He then used it in our backyard a couple days ago and found really old nails, a very large drill bit, an old septic system (yikes), and even what we think is an old crank for a very old car! Worth the money.

The middle detector is so accurate that it would pinpoint and tell me exactly pretty much what kind of metal I was finding exactly where it was and it was never wrong at least for me. The first time that I ever took it out, my wife and I, struck gold with a good find of old coins from the Civil War on our property.Best metal detector I have ever had!
