I haven’t tried sharpie though so not sure how that would work. I also like that they come with an accordion folder in the back like moleskine does. They also have a contents section which I find helpful. The one thing I don’t like which I took a star off for, is that the covers are pretty thin and the elastic to hold the book closed presses into the covers making a little divot underneath.
