Great price, great size, makes life easier.
This is probably the best garlic press I've ever owned. Works like a charm and the large basket is easy to clean. Can expell motiole cloves are once, several times in a row before needing to be cleaned out. Love how comfortable it is in the hand, will a nice weight that speaks to it's quality.

Works Great
It looks to be constructed out of stainless steel. So, I said I would never buy one of these. As a home cook, I started by just mincing my garlic with a knife. But then I said I will buy a microplane and grate my garlic on that. Then I bought a sharper, nicer, microplane. The microplane does make garlic processing alot faster than hand mincing with a knife and cutting board. Even though you have to be careful not to micro plane your fingers when you get down to the end. Here I thought I was done. But then somebody gifted me a garlic press. Using a garlic press made me realize what I was missing out on. Usually, when I cook, 30% of my time cooking a dish will be dedicated to processing garlic and ginger. With a garlic press it turns that 30% into maybe 5%. So it made me realize what a drag microplane, processing all this garlic and ginger, is. PROBLEM: the garlic press, I was gifted, lasted me a couple of days. It was a really cheap unit that seemed to make financial sense for a product I dont even want to own. But it was made out of some kind of pot metal, aluminum alloy or Zamac, in its body construction. So the hinge broke in the casting section. There is really no way to repair this, so it gave me a few days and then totaled itself. So I asked an AI give me a stainless steel construction. I am now short tempered about this whole thing. One of the recommendations it gave was this one and it seemed to fit. So I get this thing and it looks stainless steel all over and will not break. Then I said you know what, I hate you and just looking over the all stainless steel construction is not good enough. I will feed you a piece of ginger and flavor a glass of water with it, as a test. My old garlic press had little pins to extrude the garlic fully through the press portion. This one is flat on the press top without these little pins to try to press, and then cut, to maximize the yield of the press. Since Garlic is not wood fiber type, I assume the flat press design is sufficient and will press the garlic fully. With the test of ginger, it made the pulp and juice of ginger with one press while retaining the fibrous portions. So thats great for ginger. Using a knife I just scrape at the extrusion portion to maximize yield, open the press, then push around whats left inside to a lump and press again, to absolutely maximize the yield. I really gave this thing the beans trying to press hard. I figure give it the beans on the ginger test, instead of having it fail down the road on some garlic. And it past my abuse test and seems to work fine. So this is a well thought out match for 1. garlic pressing 2. not breaking. therefore I have to give it 5/5

Does a good job
Does well, not too hard to squeeze. You do have to scrape out the garlic, but it was easy to clean. Good quality and a time saver.

Great for small hands
I purchased the NEW OXO Good Grips Garlic Press last year and I'm so happy I did. This turned out to be the best garlic press I ever had. I have small hands and they are not very strong, so I was looking for one that would work for me. Very sturdy, easy to use and does a great job. Yes, it takes about 30 sec to clean, but they all do, so this is not an issue for me. I do have to help with my other hand to press it well at times, but that is not an issue either, the handles are soft and comfortable. An all around great garlic press. As a side note, though my hands are small and on the weaker side, I don't have arthritis, so people who do, might just need to give it a try to see if it works for them.

Best one I have ever owned!
I have always resisted “splurging” on OXO in spite of good reviews, thinking they were just too high priced. I have recently tried a couple of items and have been impressed with both of them. This garlic press is great. Thoroughly pushes the cloves through without squirting out the sides; and great easy to clean design! Americas Test Kitchen is right to recommend OXO. Tools that work great!!

Excellent garlic press by OXO
Another superb product from oxo at a rock bottom price. Heavy duty, thick comfortable rubber handles, oxo done it again. Was looking at up to 100$ garlic presses trying to find a solid product and based on reviews was not able to find anything better then this oxo garlic press here, simple and really well made, with oxo you almost always can just trust the brand name and at least in my experience it’s a superb highly useful product. You not wasting your time or money, paying lowest price possible and it’s always really well designed, well thought out product, thank you oxo, i also have thongs from them, for cooking another amazing product that other brands just don’t come close to.

Strong and Easy to Use Garlic Press
This garlic press has been a great addition to my kitchen tools. It feels solid and well made with the stainless steel build. The handles are comfortable to grip, and they don’t slip even when pressing several cloves in a row. I like that it crushes garlic smoothly without leaving big chunks behind. The chamber is roomy enough to hold larger cloves without needing to cut them down first. Cleaning it is easier than I expected because the press flips open to push out the garlic skins. I also like that it can be rinsed quickly under water or put in the dishwasher. The weight of it feels sturdy but not too heavy, so it is easy to control. It has made cooking faster since I no longer have to mince garlic by hand every time. The crushed garlic comes out evenly and works well for sautéing or mixing into sauces. I’ve used it many times now and it still looks brand new. Overall, this is a simple but reliable kitchen tool that does exactly what it should.
