Love this for a studio pallette. Lightweight to pack,but pretty large.

I love it’s size as I have filled most of the wells. It’s sturdy and folds fairly thin but it’s quite large so probably best suited for leaving at home. If you’re looking for a great and sturdy watercolor palette with lots of wells and mixing room to leave at home then this is amazing.

Palette seems great for the money. It is very large which makes for a lot of mixing room which I love. It is very light and closes well- definitely transportable to local classes and even planned air excursions- but definitely Too large to keep in your bag all the time or to travel with where space is a big concern. It does bead.. but it is fixed with a really fine sand paper (the kind made for polishing so it doesn’t scratch- once prepped it is almost as nice as ceramic (and much lighter and less breakable). The coating inside isn’t applied perfectly doesn’t affect its performance but not sure about longevity hence the 4 stars

I saw this palette being used by one of my favorite YouTube painters. While it is nice to have 35 wells and large areas to mix colors, I am disappointed in some of the features. The edges are sharp! The edges are not turned and finished smoothly. The paint coating (black) was applied haphazardly on some areas I don’t know if she received a better quality of the palette, but it was the exact box, manufacturer, and style. At this time I don’t believe these defects will affect the durability of the palette, but I don’t know if rust might be a problem in the future. (It is supposed to be made of aluminum). I just hate paying for first quality and not receiving it.

Alright, let’s get started. So, this palette is big. It is not compact and easily a size to carry around while painting plein air.. yes it is lightweight and sturdy. But again.. it’s too big for that job. This palette is perfect for keeping in the studio (which is what i do and use it for) let’s say you need to do a large wash.. then this palette is big enough so you can start a large wash and use a big mop to soak it all up. Although you could use a butchers tray, this works great! Because even the “smaller” mixing areas are large enough for that. So, keep size in mind when ordering. When folded.. it’s a bit under 14 inches long and 6 inches wide (357mm x 154mm) In the picture i posted, i have this smaller 35 well aluminum palette that i use both in studio and plein air and i’d say is a much much much better choice than the one here on Amazon. I bought it at an online art supplier and just love this palette. I hate palettes that have a thumb hole.. my hands are large enough to the point where i can just hold it comfortably in hand while painting plein air, thumb holes tend to be uncomfortable for me. Luckily both palettes i have do not have thumb holes. Like fr, GIVE ME MORE MIXING SPACE!! Who needs a thumb hole? So, overall.. i’d give this Heung il Aluminum Watercolor Palette ⭐️ 3 stars the other 2 stars are because of 1. The price (this is more of a $25 palette) 2. Size and 3. Finishing on the palette, it’s a bit rough and not fully smoothed out.

There was an initial glitch with receiving the complete order, but with a little patience all got resolved. The palettes are exactly what I wanted. Good quality palette made of aluminum with 35 spaces for paint. I would recommend this product to others.
