I can’t even begin to explain how disappointed I am, I was super impressed and optimistic about this mic (pro 58 version) as soon as I held it. The packaging is great, the build felt really solid and well made, and I plugged it in to see what it sounds like and nothing. It’s dead on arrival I haven’t pulled it apart yet to see why because I’m hoping to get it replaced but I wish it was as good as it looked but hopefully they can replace it and I can actually leave a helpful review but we’ll see

Just upgraded this review to 4 stars. This is the best sounding mic in my arsenal now, better than the Behringer XM8500. I'm talking about the Pro 58 XLR here. Natural sounding, transparent and very sensitive, yet feedback-rejects well. Picks up nuances in my voice that all my other mics don't. Haven't recorded yet so don't know its true quality. However my complaint is that the body has minimal scratches in certain areas on the handle, silver trimmings and on the inside as well, not befitting of a 'brand new' item status; which makes me wonder if it's a used item. There is no odor whatsoever on the mic grille. So either the quality control is bad or this is a returned item; I'm thinking it's the latter, basing on Amazon's track record. I'm just lucky it wasn't banged up even worse. But for the price i paid (about $27) and considering how fantastic this mic sounds and how hard it is to get, I think the price is very reasonable.
