Q: can you adjust the height of the spray? We need a sprinkler that doesn't throw water up onto the windows, our water leaves hard water stains on them

The amount of water flowing through the sprinkler adjusts the width and height of the spray. If you turn the faucet on halfway perhaps that will give you the coverage you need without dousing your windows. Halfway is perfect for the small 10X10 area I need to water.

Q: I have a small townhouse yard. About 8 ft by 10 ft of grass w a tree in the middle. How close to the spike itself does the water hit the ground?

It depends on how high you turn the water on. I have set it for very small areas like under my mailbox and I have set it under a 30 year old rhodydendron. You could probably set it in two places and cover an 8X10 yard. The ground needs to be fairly soft to push it in, like I can't push it in the ground under my 30 yr old sweetgum tree because of all the roots, but I can get away from that tree and push it in the ground.

Q: I know this was already asked ( in 2014) but does it come with the quick connect adapter? Its useless otherwise, right?

Yes and once you start using Gardena products you will most likely change out all connections and have left over bits and pieces.

Q: Does the quick connector come with the sprinkler? Some people say and some say no. Is there a definitive answer on this?

It did come with one connector! Yes it did!
