DriftmasterTS-2160 Tip Saver Offset

I have a small peddle pontoon boat with limited space. I like to have four or five rods when I'm fishing, but there's not a lot of deck space. These are great since they hang out over the water and leave deck space so I can stand and fish. I think I'm going to get a second pair as I don't like to keep more than three or four rods on there without the bungees. I use bait casters and the reels are a bit large for more than four rods. A second pair on the other side will give me lots of room and easy access.

We broke a couple rod tips last year when my son stepped on the tips while trying to net a big pike. I've been looking for a way to keep them organized and off the floor while not having to get into the rod locker in my boat. This has worked nicely so far. When not in use I can also swing these out of the way so I don't get tripped up by them. I haven't had them on the water yet but I think they will work out just fine.Update 4/11/2020:I had some larger spinning reels that would rest on the deck so I ended up raising the end that holds the reels by mounting a block of wood to the deck and then mounting the rod holder base to the block.

Awesome product that was exactly what I was looking for. Good quality and holds my rods perfectly. I have them installed on my boat that gets into tights spaces. The way they mount to the boat allows them to move and not be too rigid. And the mounts makes them interchangeable with other rod holders or mounts.

They are well made, just not tall enough, or enough spacing between slots, bought in damaged package so oh well. I could modify them for the height, the spacing is just not enough for 4000 size spinning reels.

Installed easy. I saw this with other reviews but did know just how bad it was. I had 4 rods it it and secured with the provided bungie cord. While running across the lake I hit a moderate wave (only running between 30-35 mph) that caused the Bungie cords to pops off both the front and back and two of my rigs went over. A Johnny Morris Carbonite 2 rod ($179) with a Lew's Mach Crush reel ($169) the 2nd was another Johnny Morris rod ($179) with an Abu Garcia $(129) reel. So just over $600 in rods and reels gone. Only if there was a slot or a hook for the Bungie cords to hook over to prevent them from just popping off. One landed in the boat and the other went over with the rods. I think the brackets are well made but the important part to hold them in place was not thought out well at all. if you travel in a bass boat in very smooth water it may be ok but when does that happen. if I contact the mfg what will they do.... send me a new $2 Bungie that was lost but nothing for the expensive gear that it was made to secure. There was no securing what so ever.

This works great for those long crappie rods. Gets them out of the way and keeps them from being broken. Great purchase.

Purchased to install on a 14ft Jon boat. Easy to install and helps keep rods organized. Storing 8 rods is a stretch so only 4 stars. Worth the $60 I paid in my opinion and a good organization solution for small boats.

Be aware folks, pretty much not getting what you see in the picture! 1. It shows a flat base mount which I caught before ordering so, I ordered a flat base mount for $8.00+ to replace the star base mount that they send you. Then instead of the wingnuts to tighten to the base that’s in the picture. You get regular hex bolts that’ll take a wrench to tighten/ loosen to be able to turn them parallel with your boat to get them out of the way while boating and fishing! 3. Flipping slack and cheap strap to hold rods down is a joke and nothing like what you get! Really dissatisfied and probably sending this junk back! You need to change your picture of the product, pretty much false advertising!

This did not come with the base mounts pictured. Came with the 3 hole mount which is not suitable for mounting on my gunwale. I will either have to return or order the 2 hole mounts.

STURDY AND GOOD MATERIAL. WISH THEY CAME WITH SOME KIND OF LOCKING DEVICE FOR RODS.

Great rod storage while on the water. Pre - tying my rigs before heading out, these keep gear out from under your feet and ready to fish.

Great product for my co-angler to store his rods. I purchased the 'flush mount' mounting plates from Driftmaster and mounted from underneath my carpeted aluminum gunnel . Very inconspicuous when not in use. Sturdy as hell. Very happy with the quality and function.
