I had only crocheted scarves and blankets coming into this. The formatting of the video instructions (one short video per stitch/step, easy to replay and toggle back and forth between them) legitimately taught me how to read patterns in one go. Learning the actual stitches took a bit longer, and I had to redo it a couple times, but once I was done with one kit I became able to make pretty much anything I wanted. The fact that the yarn is dense and doesn't split helps so much when you just need to figure out what you're doing. Ironically, the only downside is that now I don't want to do these ones anymore because scraping through an anthology of videos to get the pattern is annoying now that I can read patterns! I would love to know if there's some way to get the pattern without using the video, but I guess the entire point of this brand is to learn. I've been recommending it to people who want to learn to crochet. I can't believe how fast I learned patterns, whereas before, I assumed they would be too hard to learn.

My daughter did, and she lost the starter section (the “magic ring”), which made it harder to begin. Not a big deal if you already know how to crochet, but it caused some backtracking for us as beginners. I wish they had a "do not take apart" sticker on the item so that other eager 10-year olds do not make the same mistake. Just scan the code and watch the video instructions before you do anything. The yarn is thick enough to handle easily, making it ideal for little hands learning the stitches. The finished crochet animals are very cute but small. Just the right size for a beginner.

I did not want to love this kit. I thought all the hype was just paid endorsements. I was wrong. This kit was so great. I did not know how to crochet nor did I think I could do it. It did take me longer than the number of hours it says you will complete it but that is because I kept unraveling every row or stitch I didn't like almost 20 times because I would do some of them either too tight or too loose. The availability to keep replaying the videos and the help section were a great help too. I credit those two things as the reason why my Pierre came out so well. I loved this kit so much that I got a kit for my daughter. Also, the instructions for left-handers is really good and not just reversed or mirrored videos for right-handers. Well worth the money!

I bought this crochet kit because of all the good reviews. Turns out, it is just overpriced t-shirt yarn. Amigurumi is not made with t-shirt yarn. The video is too long. There is no printed instruction booklet either.
