The best basic compact coffee machine for frothy coffee!
After working in hospitality serving frothy coffees and enjoying making them, I thought it was time I owned my very own coffee machine to make special frothy coffees at home! After a lot of researching to find the best basic coffee machine that fulfilled my needs, this one ticked all the boxes! It's neat, compact and easy to use. It comes with instructions and shows diagrams of how to set it up for the first time and takes minutes to clean too! It makes perfect frothy coffees and only takes about 5 minutes to wait to use the machine too! It makes one coffee in a decent size mug or two mini mugs at the same time. The only downside with this coffee machine is that a big mug won't fit on top of the drip tray when attaching the portafilter to the machine but you can easily remove the drip tray so not a problem. And the drip tray does come apart into layers so it's one less thing to wipe after using anyway. I have made teas and hot chocolates too using the steam wand, after finding out you can when reading the booklet, but the water has a plastic aftertaste so I make teas and hot chocolates using the kettle instead. Having the steam wand is the main reason for buying this particular machine to get frothy milk which as you can see in the photos has excellent results! It's great to add frothy milk to hot chocolates, chai teas to make chai lattes and for frothy coffee of course! If you are looking for a nice looking coffee machine that fits in your kitchen, creates special frothy coffees easily, then look no further! I have tried lavazza ground coffee for this machine. It's ok but found it's quite bitter, so won't need much coffee ground in one scoop. I would definitely recommend you buy this machine if you want that barista experience! All my family and friends love it! Now I enjoy making coffee in the morning :D I hope that De'Longhi continue to make such reliable coffee machines!

Inexpensive espresso, cappuccino maker that WORKS well
This is an inexpensive machine that makes high level coffee. Bought a Sharur Burr Grinder with it. Pressure perfect for a fine Espresso grind, and gives a good strength Espresso, the water heats up quickly too. The milk frother works and delivers real hot foam (I hate tepid coffee).....very quickly. I got the pale green one. It's a mixture of quality plastic and stainless metal, well designed and simple to use and to clean once you get the idea. I've had a lot of coffee machines and this is probably the best of them all in the resultant Cappucino. Well done DeLonghi this is giving giving me good coffee and keeping me compos-mentis for the day. I use the double head as I like a bit of body to my Cappuccino, but the single head is good enough for a wake me up Espresso. It's very good value for about £100. Don't mistake EC260.GR for the model below.....the EC230 it's the EC260.GR that does the bizz.

Great starter machine – with a little upgrade, it’s a proper café at home
Stylish, compact, and makes a solid espresso straight out of the box – this little De'Longhi is a cracking entry into the world of manual coffee machines. The 15-bar pressure gives a decent crema, and the milk frother does a lovely job for cappuccinos or lattes.BUT – if you really want to fall in love with it, do yourself a favour and get a bottomless portafilter and a 4-cup basket. The one it comes with is fine for casual use, but the upgrade lets you brew stronger, smoother shots with much better flow and less fuss. It really brings the machine to life.☕️ Pros:– Lovely retro green colour – looks great on the counter– Compact but powerful enough– ESE pod compatible for lazy days– Frother actually works (unlike many budget machines)– Auto shut-off is a nice touch⚠️ A note for coffee geeks:You’ll outgrow the included portafilter quickly if you’re aiming for barista-style coffee. But for the price? It’s still an excellent bit of kit.Would I buy it again? Yes. But I'd get the bottomless portafilter at the same time next time.

Be patient during setup
Great little machine! Still working on the correct ground coffee to water ratio but 10X better than instant and already saving me money on takeaway coffees.During setup, make sure you wait a while for the water to purge, I thought mine was broken but it takes 1-2mins to get through the system first time. Also, make sure you really twist the coffee handle in tight, my first couple of times it was loose making the ground coffee super wet. It really needs to be compressed in there.Otherwise, works a treat. Glad I invested. It doesn’t come with a pot to steam the milk though so make sure to get one of those if you need it.

Great coffee maker
Excellent coffee machine. Easy to operate and has steam pressure to make a good espresso or to froth milk. Highly recommended.

Poor logistics, and broke after a week
The machine itself is great. HOWEVER, after 1 week the steam arm broke but it did make a great coffee. Contacted Amazon who have replaced for freeAlso. If ordering as a gift, like I was, Amazon plonk it on your doorstep with no box. So my partner saw his main gift a few days before his birthday. The new machine they sent out was also left in the exact same way despite me calling to complain about this in the first place

Perfect cup/mug of coffee every time
So simple to use and with the ESE pods a perfect cup/mug of coffee every time. LOVE it.Update: had this lovely machine less than 40 days but it's stopped working. No coffee drips into my mug even though the steamer works. I've ordered delongi descaled and hope that works. I'll update after descalingUpdate: The descaler didn't work, Amazon were very helpful, Royal Mail will collect it and thereafter Amazon will give me a refund. Do I order the machine again, or will the same thing happen? I decided to buy a different machine from Amazon and so far I'm liking it much more than the de longhi. Fingers crossed

Good little coffee maker.
Great: nice looking, easy to use. Robustly made. Sits well and comes with two fittings allowing for double or single espressos to be made. Switching over the little compartments is a little fiddly (requires strong nails) and it is a little tricky to get the blend perfect as you need to switch the water flow off manually, but for the price hard to complain.
