arrived just right in mailbox. Charged two days inside with a halogen light before using. (they worked fine out of the box but charged fully to be sure. fit perfectly for a 3 ft. natural trees outside facing west. working perfectly on night two. not all that bright but acceptable for my purposes and expectation. I manually turn off at night , rather than run after midnight. Turn on manually at dusk as well, simultaneously, and let then run through different modes .more interesting to me. Would have given a five if I had more time to rate.

Both strings will not remain 'steady on'. They both start to flash when it gets dark even if I have set them to remain on without flashing. One of the two only stays lit for a couple of hours. The other stays lit most of the night. I believe that the Chinese manufacturer started using a new chip that gives more flashing patterns, but this chip does not work correctly in the three new light strings I have purchased. My old strings work fine and stay 'steady on' all night, even if they only have 'steady' and 'flash' settings. I do not want them to flash!

I've purchased these lights before & always been very happy with them they're performance. The only reason I'm buying them again is my grandson takes them from me to use to highlight his homemade bicycle track in my backyard. They obviously have multiple uses besides enhancing my shrubs & tree's at night.

I have been a little disappointed with how long these lights stay on. The have lovely color and look great when on, but some nights they lose power after only an hour and get quite dim. On good days, they last longer (can't tell why they charge better on some days than others as we are located in sunny Florida and they get lots of sun) but still not as long as my other solar light strands.

UP DATE. They have spent 365 nites going strong. Almost a year to the day finally had to replace the batteries......I have had them a little over a week and so far great. For being solar there pretty bright. Good color and I like the different flash (or not) patterns. They last about 4 hrs. Down here in the Florida winter sun. I've learned to replace the original batteries on most solar lights with good quality rechargeable batteries and they last a lot longer.

These delightful lights are working daily several months later.They were used to decorate water craft for a Christmas boat parade.It took a while to figure them out (operator error, it wasn't dark enough) but they are terrific!

I got 2 strings: one works perfectly, and the other "forgets" its lighting setting, going to the default pattern which includes some annoying flashing. If they both worked properly, I'd bump up my rating. They're nice and bright.

worthless, have been up for several bright sunny days, they come on at dusk and last for 10 mins max, very unbright even when lit, sending them back to amazon today
