Safe, effective, pleasant fragrance and nontoxic!
This product is such a nice alternative to toxic products used to discourage or end the life of unwanted mice. I bought two packages - one for an antique care that is in a storage facility and another for my sons garage, where a two year old lives in the home. The fragrance is pleasant and so far, the repellant effect has been excellent! I plan to purchase more for a barn where cats reside and a nontoxic product is needed! I am thrilled to have this option to unacceptable traps and poisons.

Really does work!
I live in the woods of Maine, and had an issue with mice getting into 2 of my vehicles that I use infrequently. Absolutely disgusting to open up the door and see mouse poop. Unfortunately, I dont have a covered garage and I live in the middle of a forest with lots of mice. I was super skeptical that these would work. To my complete surprise they immediately worked. I have used them for 6 months without a single instance of mice getting into the cats. I put 2 packs in each car, one beneath each of the front seats. The smell is pleasant for me, but apparently not so much for mice. They are worth the price to keep mice out and they really do work.

Perhaps My Mice Are Different
Sorry, Grandpa Gus - perhaps Connecticut mice are different, but here's my story. I have a 2004 Toyota RAV4 that sits outside under the trees and is used infrequently during the summer. Both last summer and this summer, I could hear one or two mice in the headliner of the car when I got in, running around over my head. When I banged on the headliner, they would move around. This year, I suddenly had lots of weird electrical issues, and the Toyota dealer had to drop the headliner to get at the source of the problem. Five wires had their insulation chewed off and had shorted. There were four mouse nests in the headliner and two in the inside rear quarter panel. Apparently, this is not the first time the Toyota guys have seen the issue, and they did not have a solution to the problem. The Toyota guys had my car for two days to do the repairs (dropping the headliner is a major job) and it cost me $760. Obviously, I had a real incentive to solve this problem, so I turned to Amazon and read reviews of mouse repellents. At the time, Grandpa Gus had 7 reviews that were all 5-star, so I purchased a package of 4 pouches, putting 1 pouch under the front seat and 1 pouch on top of the battery, which is a dry area near the cabin air filter and frequently a point of entry for mice. Two days later, I drove the car to Home Depot and was disappointed to hear a mouse in the headliner when I got back to my car in the parking lot. I theorized that the Grandpa Gus odor was not getting from the interior of the car into the headliner, so I dropped the overhead light in the front of the headliner and shoved a Grandpa Gus into the headliner itself.....and then placed another order on Amazon for four more pouches. That enclosed headliner space is a pretty small volume for its own pouch, so I was optimistic. Unfortunately, the mouse continued to run around in the headliner for the next three days, after which I removed the Grandpa Gus pouch from the headliner and put two small, perforated plastic bags filled with cotton balls that had been injected with "Majestic Pure Peppermint Essential Oil" that I also purchased on Amazon - that product had the second highest rating on Amazon as a mouse repellent. The Grandpa Gus pouches were still on top of my battery and under the seat. For the next three days, I banged on the headliner and was pleased that there were no mice running around over my head. On the third day, I opened the back door and was surprised to see a tiny mouse inside the car! I tried to quickly throw the trunk liner out the rear door but the mouse ran under the seat – right at the pouch of Grandpa Gus. I put two mouse traps inside the car and proceeded to capture that tiny mouse along with 3 of his/her siblings – no mama or papa mice; just small baby mice, like the one in the photo. The peppermint scent apparently had driven the small mice out of the headliner into the interior of the car, where Grandpa Gus proved to be totally ineffective. I feel bad writing a negative review because the Grandpa Gus folks followed up both of my orders with a nice e-mail with suggestions for pouch placement and an offer for me to call them anytime if I had a problem. Perhaps Grandpa Gus works for large mice (mama and papa size), but it certainly didn’t work for the baby mice in my car. I really didn't see any reason to call them for help. Basically, there were at least 4 small mice living inside the interior of a 2004 Toyota RAV4, which is a fairly small car, along with a pouch of Grandpa Gus. I will remove the Grandpa Gus from under the seat and on top of the battery and replace it with perforated plastic bags of cotton balls that had been injected with "Majestic Pure Peppermint Essential Oil." On a positive note, the odor from the Grandpa Gus pouches is fine to live with. Unfortunately, the mice seem to have the same favorable opinion of the Grandpa Gus odor. Update 7/6/17 - I revised my rating from 1-star to 4-star based solely on excellent customer support. After I posted my initial review, I was contacted by Nick at Grandpa Gus, concerned that their product did not work in my situation. We exchanged a couple of e-mails so that Nick could better understand my situation. Without my asking, Nick offered to refund the cost for my two purchases, and he promptly took care of that refund. Because I wrote in my initial review that the peppermint scent has been working in my car, Nick also offered to send me, free of charge, a Grandpa Gus spray product ("Grandpa Gus's Natural Mouse Rodent Repellent - Peppermint Oil for Mice & Rat Control") because it includes peppermint oil as one of its ingredients. Although that product arrived today, it will be a few weeks before I can give this new product a fair test, and I don't know whether or not it will work in my situation. HOWEVER, regardless of whether or not it works, I increased my rating to a 4-star review to reflect the excellent customer support Nick provided. This is probably the first time in my life that I have ever been contacted by a supplier, offering to refund my money without my asking and to supply a replacement product for free, simply because they want satisfied customers. I initially purchased the product because of good Amazon reviews, so it obviously works well for some people. If you combine that success for most customers with their superior customer support, how can you go wrong by giving this product a try?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Works Like a Charm!
We use Grandpa Gus’s Extra-Strength Mouse Repellent Pouches when closing our campers for the season and we’ve never had a mouse problem in either of them! 🐭✨ The peppermint and cinnamon scent is pleasant, natural and effective. Super easy to use, and the pouches feel high-quality. Highly recommend for RVs, storage, garages, or anywhere you want to keep rodents away!

Nope, they do not work.
Update: 11 24 2024: So, the "Motel Mouse" humane traps DO WORK (on Amazon). I set them up with a gob of peanut butter on 11 22 2024 as soon as they arrived and within an hour, I had one mouse in a trap and went back to look at another trap about 30 minutes later, and another mouse was in the second trap. Nothing in the laundry pantry or kitchen. I put the occupied traps outside until the morning. As soon as I opened the trap the little mice bolted to the point where they were airborne! As of today, 11 24 2024, no more mice in the traps, no more droppings; the HVAC vents are covered with those nice magnetic mesh covers (from Amazon) and the air flow is fine; so, I think I am good to go! So don't waste your $$ on the repellents and get the humane traps although the little bowls of peppermint oil and the lavender epsom salt does make your house smell nice! So, yes, I discovered I have mice in my master bathroom and at least one managed to make it into the kitchen in full view of my dogs, believe it or not. I live semi-rural, and I know they're outside so it should have been expected that they'd find their way indoors at some point. So, I began with ordering mesh magnetic covers for my HVAC vents on the floor since I thought they might be coming in through there from the crawlspace; then I subsequently began with little bowls of peppermint oil spread around; nope, tried the ultrasonic electronic pest repeller that you plug in, 6 of them, 3 in the bathroom and just outside in the master bedroom and the other 3 outside in the shed.. Nope. Tried Epsom salts with lavender since they are supposed to not like the smell of lavender (my house smells great, tho) but nope, bought these Grandpa Gus' mouse repellent pouches and set them all around including on top of the vanity and apparently the mice love them because I found a couple of droppings right on top of the pouches. I did find one baby mouse in a glass flower vase I had setting on the kitchen floor and when I walked by it, I thought there was a walnut in the bottom and came to find out it was a baby mouse all curled up. Apparently, it got in but could not get out. It was very still so I thought it was dead, but I took it outside and pushed it out and it was weak, but it did revive and scurry off after a few minutes of fresh air and grass. I thought that was it until I found a few more droppings on the Grandpa's pouch on my vanity, again. Next, my humane mouse traps arrived this evening and yes, post haste, I set them up with some peanut butter and put them around, 4 of them. We will see what that does. I am just wondering since I covered my HVAC vents with the magnetic mesh covers that they could not get back out assuming that was the way they came in, but I don't really know where the heck they're coming in at. I've lived in this house for 4 years and while I see the mice outside, I have never seen one inside the house until now.

Not working for me
I heard that these typically work pretty well, but they are not working for me. I put three of them under the hood of my car in various, safe spots, and it is not keeping the rodents out. I live in a rural area so field rodents can be an issue, especially if nearby neighbors are not being proactive with keeping them out of sheds and barns. After cleaning under the hood I used 3 pouches. Checked a few days later and it was evident the rodents came back.

Works great!
These are Great and smell Great!! I kept seeing mice droppings on my stove and say one run behind my stove recently, placed on behind my stove and in another area of my kitchen and I haven’t seen another dropping or sigh of it since. I love the smell of the peppermint, it’s strong but good! Definitely would buy again if needed……I even told my mom to buy some

We have used these and they are very effective. The only down side is the smell of them.
