Q: Is this switch 5 speed forward and 2 speed reverse?

No. It’s 2 forward and 2 reverse. The 5th position is off. It was not able to work for any of my trolling motors ( and I have many from different manufacturers).

Q: will the halibo electric switch work on r3 motor guide trolling motor

It didn’t work for me. It caught fire after about 10 minutes of trolling.

First I received was DOA, plastic was cracked.Second one was fine and works great but I feel the plastic case is very flimsy.

Switch arrived with the casing cracked and didn’t work when hooked up to my trolling motor. I made sure to attach the wires in the correct positions but nothing. Quite dissatisfied
