The best salinity meter for measuring salinity meter and water temperature!
I use it in my aquariums and it does give me accurate readings on salinity and water temperature. NO professional knowledge is needed for calibration, it is easy to calibrate as long as you follow the instructions. I can even switch the temperature unit between °C and °F that no manual temperature conversion is needed. Tried some of the cheap $10-$20 meters in the past, and I feel much more confident in my reading with this new meter. Really easy to use and user-friendly. Feel well-built, easy to carry... nothing to complain about. It's well worth the money. Strongly RECOMMENDED for those who are looking for a professional salinity and water temperature meter!

works well but hard to figure out
Came quickly and right out of the box it seemed to be ok. Installing the batteries right off the bat gave me problems. The instructions on the side of the box vs what is in the manual are the exact opposite so of course i put them in backwards the first try. Once i got it turned on, it took some time messing with it to get it setup an working the way that i wanted it to. First i tested some pre-made water against my old reliable refractometer and after getting old trusty calibrated check SG in my pre-made water. Next i tested the same water with the new Meter and it matched up well after i did the conversion from PPT to SG. Next i tested a sample of my tank water and the meter was from what got accurate. I took a sample over to my local LFS and their result was the same as my new Meter. Over all good product but the learning curve may be a killer for someone with less patience.

Works for me!
I doubled checked the accuracy at a fish store and it seemed to match their meter. It’s hard to read in the dark as there’s no display light. Sometimes hard to read at a side angle so u have to point it towards u to see when it’s done changing and is set on a reading. Otherwise, it’s been great! I’m using to measure salt.

Inaccurate and failed to calibrate
I liked the idea of having a quicker way to measure salinity than using a refractometer so I bought two of these units. Unfortunately have had separate issues with both of them. The first unit was not reading a standard buffer I had correctly and I thought I just needed to calibrate it. So I calibrated it using the included instructions and it was still reading a 35ppt standard at 32ppt. So then with the second unit I measured the same 35ppt standard at 30ppt. So I went to calibrate it and upon calibration it froze and wouldn't allow me to do anything... including powering off (until I removed the batteries). I tried this process again and it froze again in calibration mode. If you need accuratesalinity readings I recommend finding a different way to measure salinity.

I NEED ACCURACY IN A SALTWATER TANK
This is easy to use and the right price , for the accuracy not so bad but not exact.

pleasantly surprised
I was very skeptical but purchased knowing I could return it if it didn't work. I compared it against my Taylor salt water test kit (I avoid the pool store tests as they seem to rarely be accurate) and it was right on. I made adjustments to my salt level based on that, rechecked and the two tests still aligned. No calibration was needed.

Not for the novice
Instructions were written in "overseas english" translation of instructions on how to use the product lacked clarity and specifics. Not a tool that we found easy to use. A pool professional however immediately knew how to use the tool.

I really love this meter for my aquarium
I really love this meter for my aquarium. It accurately tells me that the level of salinity in the tank. I also referred this one to my couple of friends, somehow they have no idea how much salt should be added after testing by this salinity meter. I recommend that they should identify what the purpose they wanna reach, and do some research then before use it.

Koi keeping is an enjoyable, relaxing hobby …………….. except when it’s not. Problems arise and it’s always with your better fish. A couple had the beginnings of a potential ulcer (holes in their body usually caused by poor water or parasite infections) but I carried out all of the tests and and checked a Mucus scrape from a few of the fish and found nothing that could cause my problems at a loss I decided to go for a 0.3 % salt level for the whole pond. I borrowed a good quality salt meter but decided to buy my own. This one has a number of reviews on YouTube which seemed positive so went with it. Easy to use once the supplied batteries are in. Simply clean with de ionised water before use available on Amazon or in the car section of most supermarkets (5ltr was £1.50 @ Tesco) then place it in the water to be tested. Comes pre calibrated but being a nerd tested against 3 pre known solution levels and all were accurate. Over half the price of the koi salt meters available in the U.K. and just in addition. 2 weeks at 0.3% has cleared up both my koi……….. now to get rid of the salt from the water. Buy with confidence

Using this product to measure salinity in my pond. Seems to be working and the fish are still alive, so that is great. The product is much easier to use then the instruction manual makes it out to be. I would buy this again.
