Great for RC Winch
I purchased this Blue 1mm UHMWPE Micro Cord—not for its intended purpose, but to replace the steel cable on my RC winches. The steel cable that comes on most RC winches is stiff and has “memory.” Once it’s been spooled, it wants to stay coiled. It works fine under tension, but if it comes loose from the hook, it tends to spring back, coil up, and tangle. This UHMWPE line behaves much more like real synthetic winch rope. It lays flat, spools smoothly, and doesn’t fight you when there’s no load on it. For scale realism, this is about as close as you can get in look, feel, and texture. It gives the winch a much more modern, realistic appearance. It’s rated at 350 lb breaking strength, has less than 1% stretch at working load, and is listed as highly UV resistant thanks to a PU coating over the fibers. For an RC application, that’s more than enough strength with excellent durability. In short, it’s a big upgrade over the stock steel cable. Very high strength kite line
This string is great for a speed kite. Be aware that it is wound significantly tighter than some of the smaller (200lb) line, but that actually makes it easier to put in a sheath. I did break it once, but then I used a splice instead of a knot, which has prevented any more breakage.

Great for tying speargun bands.
I have been using this line to tie off speargun bands and it has been excellent. I have not had a single constrictor knot made with this material fail, despite being used in salt water and frequently under heavy tension. I believe this line is more durable, cheaper, and holds better than the standard wax line most people use for this purpose.

As Described
Not using for kites, but makes good accessory cord for hunting and camping. Lightweight, but not as useful as bank line.

Too thin to splice or tension a tent lineloc
This cord seems strong and it is very lightweight. I bought it to make tarp guylines, but it was too thin to splice.

Good cord...
0.5mm is smaller than I thought, looks like less than 0.5 but at that size, hard to tell, really.... first thing I thought when I got it was "WOW! that is tiny!" Looks like thread, but for its size, it is VERY tough. I tried it for my application and decided I need to use slightly larger diameter line, but again, that is my bad for not thinking how small .5mm would be. It handles and seems to hold knots well. For kicks I made a couple loops and made prussiks - they function fine even though are tiny. 5-star for the 0.5mm size ================== For some reason, I can't write separate review for purchase of larger cord of same type I bought - 1.3mm. Maybe because same Amazon listing with different sizes of same item? I dunno. This size worked for my application. I expected 1.3mm to be to big and a little too stiff, but it works great. It is very supple, handles well, and holds the knots I've used so far. I have some other HMWPE in slightly larger and expected this 1.3mm to be stiffer but it is just right for my application. It is hollow braid and separates fine if you work at it a bit; if I had a small enough fid / loop, I expect I could splice it (I have had good luck splicing similar cord in larger diameter from Emma Kites). Great cord. 5-stars.

Strengthy string that's sure to impress!
This stuff is strong! Very durable and easy to work with, braidable and your knots stay put. Would recommend. 5 stars.

Value priced, meets or exceeds description, works as advertised and is a value.
I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR
