Orderd this as it had the square head screws that attach the trim to the hood. Used a 10mm socket to remove the old hardware. The slots that the screws sat in were almost all broken. Removed old trim, used 6" adjustable to hold the old screws and removed the retaining nuts (6). 2013 and in Canada, used this opportunity to remove all the old rust, sand smooth, primer, paint and clear lacquer. Used the screws that came with the trim and the old plastic (acorn) nuts. Easy to install and fit perfectly. Very careful when tirquing up the fasteners to not snap the trim slots. Looks great. To just replace the trim will take about 30 minutes. Body repair and paint 6 hours.

Decent part, easy to replace. Good fit and finish. Added this tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CM5K4R5T) around inside of top of strip to duplicate the original and keep the edge from scratching the hood paint. Had to trim 1mm off center guide piece with Drexel tool so it would fit rectangular hole in the hood.. Came with new screws, but had to re-use old nuts, which was fine, 7mm. Put a small dab of E6000 adhesive around flat head part of the screw before sliding into the clip on the trim. Be sure flat on screw slides in fully square into the clip Added small drop of medium strength blue thread locker to nut before lightly torquing in place. Last steps done to add a little more staying power for the new trim, and maybe keep the clips from breaking on the new trim. Once in place, looks great on our 2012 SRX.
