What a great tool-
This book was a gift for my 7 year old son. He plays Minecraft and I wanted to share the experience and spend time using our imagination while playing video games. I wanted some ideas to work on together ...what a well written book. Easy instructions to follow. It helped me learn a bit too. He was engaged and open to ideas in the book and we have had a great time this winter building our world together. 5 stars. Well done.

Great book series.
My son loves these books. It gets him reading plus gives him more information for when online playing with friends. We have several of these books. Excellent quality for hauling with you in backpack, car etc.

Great for a Minecraft newb, OK for those already familiar with the game
There is nothing wrong with this book, except at least 1/2 of the information can be found on the wiki. My 8 year old saved up his allowance to purchase this book (and at a buck and a quarter per week, that's dedication) and he will be happy with it. Personally, I think Mojang missed the boat with waiting so long to put out these guides. There are already excellent unofficial guides out there (which we have) as well as the wiki, youtube channels, twitch streamers, etc that have covered the basics completely. If you haven't already spent hours upon hours researching this stuff on the web or are a Minecraft newbie then this is a 5 star basics manual to creating in Minecraft and feel to purchase it and the companion books knowing you are getting a solid Minecraft foundation for your money. If, however, you are like me and have spent the last 2 years Googling how to do all this cr*p for you kid then the only redeemable feature of this book will likely be the 3rd section which contains ideas and some basic blueprints for some admittedly creative structures. This section is what pushed it from 3 to 4 starts for me.As it stands right now, this book and the redstone guide in the same series are the only ones I would allow my kid to consider buying. What Mojang really needs to make is a deep dive guide into the command line possibilities of the game...you know, the stuff I'm now being begged to research. C'mon, Mojang, you can do it, take my money and save my sanity!

Perfect for kids who love minecraft
I just gave this book to my 6-year-old son for Valentine’s Day and he takes it everywhere he goes. He loves Minecraft and the pictures really captivate him. He can’t quite read it yet but he can’t stop staring at everything and he wants us to help him build all the cool stuff.

A-manga-zine book
My budding 10 yr old artist loved this. Worked on it for hours. Has tracing pages and most with the facial outline lightly sketched to start them off (variations of angles so as not always looking straight on) for them to add facial features and details.
