50PCS Landscape Anchoring Spikes, 8 Inch Spiral Plastic Landscape Spikes for Garden Lawn Yard, Paver, Weed Barrier, Artificial Turf

I was SHOCKED at the price at the local big box store for a bag of pointy plastic nails. These are affordable and of the same quality. I used them to secure paver edging and landscape edging. It is important to understand that while these are plastic and therefore a little flimsy, their strength is somewhat provided by the stiffness of the soil they are driven into. I found that they respond best to a few light taps to get started before just pounding away at them. The twist shape adds extra holding friction in the soil. I even had to pull one section up and re-do it. Some of the spikes were slightly bent, but were able to be reused.

We ordered the 4” flexible edging from Amazon and quickly found out that the edging does not contain sufficient spikes. The spikes that are included (in the edging package) are shorter than these. The extra length —they’re two inches LONGER— should prove to hold the edging in longer / better. Sturdy—not one has broken. We also insured to turn on the sprinkler plus bring a container of water. If there is resistance, we pull out the spike, add water to the tiny hole that the spike created, and work it until it is fully pushed in. Do not use a mallet or hammer. Use water to soften soil and the spike pushes in by hand. The spike has some grooves (like a drill bit) that help the spike to go in the soil easily. These spikes are for edging — closely spaced. While of course, they can be used for tarps or tents, that is NOT going to work. The diameter of the spike’s head is insufficient for tents/tarps. Also tents / tarps have grommets that are widely spaced out. Larger spikes with metal is for tents / tarps. I priced these are three local stores. These are fairly priced, have a conservative color (black) for your yard, and are significantly better quality. Definitely would buy these again.

No dig spikes were easy to use to secure no dig edging. Price was much cheaper than big box store. Held up well over the winter months. Very good quality.

I’m sooo glad I bought them. I could see multiple uses for these when I spotted them! I’ve used for landscaping edging I needed. They’ve worked for lighting and stability of multiple projects, especially Holidays, plants and trees and garland and even nailed down tarps. I could go on and on. It’s cold now and time will tell when Summer comes. Especially like the length.

I used the whole fifty-piece box to pin down landscape fabric and hold brick edging around a new flower bed. Our soil is dense red clay but each eight-inch stake twisted in smoothly with a rubber mallet and stayed perfectly straight. The spiral ribs grip the earth so tightly that I can tug on the edging and nothing lifts. After three heavy rainstorms the spikes are still flush with the surface and there is zero rust or discoloration. The wide heads make it easy to seat the fabric without tearing it, and the length is ideal for anchoring drip-line tubing at the same time. A pair of work gloves is smart because the tips are sharp, yet that sharpness is exactly what lets them bite through roots and compact dirt. For the cost of a fast-food lunch my weed barrier now looks professionally installed, and I have a few extras left for future projects. Solid buy if you want a one-and-done solution instead of flimsy metal pins that bend on the first swing.

I use these two secure some of my edging. Some of the ones that were in there were breaking or had disappeared. These appeared to be good quality and they do what they’re supposed to do. I think for the money it’s a good buy.

1/2 of these worked great. The other 1/2 either bent and broke as I was putting them in the ground with a rubber mallet.

Work well! Made to use in soft scape like soil. Could break in harder scape like stone dust.

Really it’s a plastic nail. Not much to praise about it BUT it did make a huge difference in the way the garden trim stayed down. I got extra because my parents put down the same garden surround and when it heats up in the sun it expands and becomes all wavy. We got an extra nails hoping to avoid this and so far so good! They go in like a nail and hold things down like a nail should. 10/10 does the job of a plastic nail well

I have a lot of landscape edging. For some I had to use metal spikes. These are not the brand of plastic I usually buy, but I'm through almost half the package and the heads have only broken off 2 of the spikes (with a rubber mallet). Hopefully they will hold up. I'm glad the ground wasn't too dry when I put them in.

Very strong and does not come out of the ground easily. Works great.
