Nice big bag of Pul Biber type pepper flakes - lovely flavour and good quality.

Although these are quite sweet, they do have a little heat to them (which I don't mind). Not hot, just a little tingle. Flavour is great. I've tried a few different brands and these seem to be the best value, better than more expensive ones I've tried. Not the first Aksoy spices I've bought and will not be the last, they always seem to provide good quality spices etc.

Because of a medical issue I cannot use salt, this is a great product to use to enliven the taste buds. You can use the flakes directly onto your food as a condiment or you can add to recipes as you would dried chilli. It gives a slow heat and has a lovely flavour.

Will indeed buy it again.

A lovely mild chilli pepper with large, soft flakes that meld nicely into sauces even when using the large quantities some recipes call for. I find they do have a bit of a kick, but please bear in mind that I chose these as I’m very sensitive to chilli due to a medical issue, so I can’t personally judge how they taste to ‘normal’ taste buds. If you have no problem eating hot chilli pepper or curry products I daresay you will find these, as my husband does, simply sweet rather than hot, and maybe even a bit tasteless. I bought them looking for a milder alternative to Gochugaru, the Korean chilli pepper flakes I’ve used for family meals for some time, but which are far too spicy for me even when reduced from tablespoonsful to just a pinch. I love to cook Korean recipes but find I can’t take the level of heat in chilli products from Korea. These Turkish flakes fit the bill nicely and I’m enjoying my Korean cooking and eating once again!
