I've had mine since December,and while there are a few tiny nicks, it looks just fine. Mine lives on my keychain, but I do keep it between a plastic electronic key and my mini swiss army knife, to minimize contact with the keys. If yours is on your keychain you could remove it, but that would probably defeat the purpose of having it there. Short of putting it in a rubber container (which would prevent easy access when you need it) you may just have to live with the wear.
