I was so glad I came to Amazon to find a replacement battery for my Uniden phone. I wasn't aware of the many, many tricksters out there who are marketing so-called "authentic" Uniden batteries that are not the real thing. I looked at several choices on Amazon, and I found the correct battery based on 2 clues: the product number and cover info (which are on the authentic battery that came with my phone in the first place) and the fact that this product page clearly states that it is for Uniden phones (the phony batteries offer a long list of brands their battery will be "compatible" with).Here's a big hint: You get what you pay for. The phony, knockoff batteries are deeply discounted ($5-$6), while the real batteries cost more. This one is authentic, and it works fine in my phone. Take my strong advice--pay the extra amount and get the real Uniden battery. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches down the road.

I’v only had the battery for a month but this battery was easy to install and is working great so far! I’ll try it for a little while longer and then order another for my second handset. Only reason for 4 stars is because I don’t have long term data on its lifespan to give 5 stars.

I was debating between this battery and the Energizer branded batteries (actually made by Audiovox) that many other people have purchased through Amazon. I've had my phones for about 5 years and the talk time was considerably less than it had been. I work from home a few days a week and am constantly on conference calls (using the hand unit speaker function) so I tend to give my batteries a work out.It was hard to sift through the reviews on batteries because it seemed most people did not remember how long the talk time was previously, so any new battery seems great. Well I charged these as per the recommendation and had my first test this week. After about 4 hours of speaker phone conversations the battery life was down one (out of three) bar. With the older batteries I would have had to switch to one of my other two phones.I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these batteries to anyone looking for an OEM replacement. Because I got so much life out of my old ones, I feel qualified to give some advice on extending the life:1) Make sure you charge them at least 15 hours; I give it a full 24.2) When you are not using the phone hang it up on the charging base.My old batteries are still good for the average person, so if I did not do so many conference calls on speaker they would probably last another 4 years.

Based on the reviews you see for this product, there is conflicting news as to whether ordering the product on this page will get you a genuine Uniden replacement battery or not. The definitive answer is: it depends on who you buy your batteries from.There are several Amazon Marketplace partners offering batteries on this page for several bucks less than what Amazon.com is selling them for. Some of the offers are for half as much as what Amazon is selling them for. If you buy from the Marketplace sellers who are selling at half what Amazon.com is charging, you can be pretty sure you're getting fakes. I can tell you I have ordered three of these batteries and each time got good quality long-life genuine OEM Uniden replacements: two in Jan 2011 and one in May 2011 from Amazon.com, not one of their partners, and yes, I paid a few bucks more than what the cheapest guy on this page wants to get it from Amazon.com and wasn't disappointed.Am I saying every Marketplace vendor is selling fake batteries? No, but I didn't have the time or patience to try them all until I found who was selling genuine OEM batteries and who was selling knock-offs. I can assure you from my experience, however, that if you spend a couple bucks more and buy from Amazon.com directly, you'll get the genuine OEM replacement battery.The genuine OEM replacement batteries are every bit as good as the originals that came with my Uniden phones. In some cases, my Uniden cordless phones came with the lower capacity 750 mAh BT-1005 batteries by default so these 800 mAh BT-446 replacements are a small improvement to the original batteries in my phones.My advice: get this battery, spend the extra couple of bucks to get it from Amazon.com (not a Marketplace seller), and you won't be disappointed.

I purchased three of these batteries to replace the old tired ones in my phone handsets. I have three remotes around the house. The batteries fit perfectly, charged up very well, and function like they are supposed to. They hold a charge for several days of non-use, and easily all day with moderate to heavy use.Great value, easy to install.However, it is not uncommon for these batteries to have a very short life. I have had mixed results with them. After a few weeks of great performance they *may* start to hold less charge and even cut off suddenly.The price is good, and these batteries can be hard to find. It seems that you have to gamble. Not ideal, but "okay".
