Never the Twain Shall Meet: Bell, Gallaudet, and the Communications Debate Paperback – August 1, 1987

Finally...a little insight to the great debate and while you may no agree one side, the other or feel the entire debate is ridiculous, it had good points and lets you know just what the Deaf have been facing all their lives. Get out go to Deaf events and you will have a better knowledge of how to ask questions on Oral vs ASL...just like the cochlear vs no assist...these debates will be around for centuries, but at least you will understand both sides.

As a professor of ASL and deaf culture, I loved the info in this book. There was so much more to the rivalry than I ever knew of. If you are interested in the deafness field, this is a must-read.
