eXtremeRate Purple and Blue Chameleon Front Housing Shell Faceplate for Xbox One X S Controller Model 1708 - Controller NOT Included

Pros:- 5 stars for everything about this face plate.- Color is amazing, and doesn't look like just a surface paint job.- It is so silky smooth to the touch (note, it's still hard ABS plastic, so "soft" isn't really the adjective for this.) But, while you can easily glide across the surface, when you actually hold it as if to play, there is definitely a grip to it.- It's a LOT cheaper than buying a new controller, especially if yours works fine.- The purple/blue chameleon also perfectly matches the "PowerA Fusion Wired Stereo Gaming Headset with Mic" of the Cosmos Nebula color.Cons:- If you have never tried to remove the faceplate on your factory controller, WATCH THE VIDEOS - not just the first one that pops up in the youtube search mentioned in the listing, but also the next one where the gentleman swaps his factory plate for a woodgrained one (that video was more helpful). Removing the side grips from your old one will be the hardest part of the process. No reason to ding stars from this product because my factory controller was built to not come apart easily, but it was a pain.- Now, once you get to the point of having your old face plate off - the installation of the new one is a breeze. DO pay attention that you get it lined up right before screwing it on (if the edges aren't lined up perfectly, it will feel like it doesn't fit). You should also note that the screws will feel tight as you reassemble due to the new plate never having screws in it.Side notes:- Yes, it is a face plate, not a skin, not a snap over style cover, it is a replacement face plate that requires you to manhandle and disassemble your controller. Doing so is obviously at your own risk, and if you're a kid, you should probably ask your grown up.- It is also NOT a whole controller. It very very clearly says this. (Seriously, there is a bad review because someone trusted a 12 year old who claimed they found a cheap controller, and now the parent is mad that it was just the face plate, so they left a bad review... That is not how reviews work.)

Ordered this back in May and I have to say this is my favorite face plate of all time. Has not chipped, scratched or broke in the slightest in the 5 months I’ve had it, even when it falls off my bed which is often. Looks so freaking good in the light but was a bit of a pain to install, just have to pay close attention to instructions and take your time :^)

The controller cover was broken in half before I even had the product opened. I started the return process and will get my money back. It didn't seem like it was that cheap of quality product, the plastic is actually quite thick, but it obviously is since it was snapped in half. The packaging was fine and not broken or ripped. Really disappointed. The cover is pretty though (if we're looking for positives here...)

Love the look of this faceplate especially with the custom XBOX home button. My faceplate does have a very flaw but is hard to see unless you’re really looking for it lol.

It's got a nice and smooth finish which I love. It looks absolutely gorgeous in all of the lighting. After following YouTube tutorials, I definitely had a fairly easy time installing it. The most intimidating part of the installation is taking off the side pieces on your controller to get to the screws. Now that it's on there, it feels really great in my hands and definitely looks beautiful.

I bought two of these replacement covers in chameleon purple blue and heaven blue and couldn’t be happier with them. I was definitely intimidated at first when it came to switching the covers, however YouTube can be awesome. After watching a video on how to do so it took me a matter of minutes to switch both controllers faceplates. We’ve had no trouble with scratches or anything of the sort and my kids are so freaking rough with them😒. I’d highly recommend these and don’t be intimidated lol it’s soOoOo easy!

I just got the faceplate today. I opened it up, excited to be able to put it on my Xbox 1 S controller soon and... I look at it and notice the crack running from the bottom of the left joystick through the D-pad. It's not a huge problem, really, but I am afraid to put it on my controller now, in case it'll break anymore than what it is.Edit: shortly after getting these, I contacted the seller. They sent me a brand new faceplate, as well as another set of screws and another screwdriver. The problem was handled really professionally, and the faceplate is so pretty, it's cause to bump my initial review.

I ordered my Switch dock face plate from eXtremeRate and it was good quality, easy to install with their instructional video. This didn't seem like as good quality, but this is my first controller face plate replacement so maybe they're all like this. Anyway, it's gorgeous, sparkly and pretty gold/green chameleon shine, I do wish the green wasn't so faint though. I did have to exchange my first one because it came with a small crack on the front, waiting on my replacement, will update review.
