Fujitsu PA03360-0002 Scanner Pad Assembly

Welcome Back Old Friend
I have always liked this scanner, but, when it started going south and picked up multiple sheets, I could only use it for single sheets. Irk.I figured it was a roller, and contemplated buffing it up with a wire brush, but never got around to it. When I saw that Amazon sells replacement parts, I bought both the pick roller and the pick pad.I replaced the pick roller first, to experiment. Great improvement, but still sent multiple sheets if the paper had folds. Replaced the pick pad, and it works like new. Far cheaper than a new one. There are instructions included, but they are in many languages and somewhat obtuse. You can find videos for each on [...] Installation is easy, though:Pick roller. Open the front, as if you had a paper jam. The plastic part (mine is grey) that has the adjusters for paper size has two squeeze tabs, one on each side. Squeeze and lift out the part. You will see the roller on a steel bar. On the left is a brass "forked" tab. The fork is down. Lift the fork until it is upright. This frees the left side of the bar. Lift the left side up SLIGHTLY, until you feel resistance. The right side of the bar is inserted into a brass nut. Gently, GENTLY, wiggle the bar, pulling lightly to the left. The bar will come off and out.Holding the left side of the bar with your left hand, at the gear, note the small plastic tab on the right side of the roller. Fiddle that until the tab comes out of a notch in the bar. The roller will then slide to the right and off.Take the new roller and, orienting the notch on the left side of the roller to line it up with a pin on the bar, slide the roller on until the pin goes into the notch. The catch on the right side should lock into the notch in the bar.Insert the right side of the bar into the brass nut, engage the gears on the left side by gently pushing down on the bar. Reengage the fork by pushing down, and then replace the grey plastic paper guide. Finished. As for the pick pad, I think you need to replace both. For $55 or so, for both, you have a new scanner. You can probably economize by not buying the spray cleaner for $25 (overpriced). With the front opened and forward, at the top, middle, of the front part, there's the pick pad. Note how it looks in place. Squeeze the two plastic tabs and gently lift out. With the same orientation, put the new one in, ensuring the tabs click in place.Close the front, and you're good to go. Not sure I needed this.
I carefully cleaned the old roller several times with 90% rubbing alcohol until it felt sticky again, but it still feed more than one sheet at a time. Before buying a new scanner, I figured on trying a new roller first. It worked perfectly right away!Like others, I also purchased this item: Fujitsu Pad Assembly FI-C511P (For Scansnap FI-5110EOX or 5110C), but found that I did not need it since just the new roller solved the problem of multi-feed issue. Since I had the Pad Assembly, I just replaced the old one anyways.

Made Fi-5110eOX2 work like new!
This item, along with the companion Fujitsu roller part, (Roller FIC511PR/PA03360-0001) made my Fujitsu 5110eox perform like brand new. I had considered replacing the scanner but took a chance on replacing these consumable items. Hats off to Fujitsu for making the parts replacement so easy. This part, in particular, you could literally remove and replace blindfolded. Almost. The roller replacement is a little more involved. Fujitsu has produce a youtube video of how to replace these consumable items. Seeing the replacements done in the video make the task much easier. I believe that the scanner used in the video example is a Fujitsu S-500. That scanner is similar enough to my own scanner that placing both parts was a piece of cake.

fits and works well
Perfect replacement for the broken part in my scanner, which would have otherwise caused me to quit using it. Extremely easy to install.

It works
As with the pick roller that I just reviewed, this is what it is and it does what it does. Combined with the pick roller this pad assembly has fixed the problem of my ScanSnap S510 pulling multiple sheets at once. Not much more to say about it, really.

Great tune up item
This with the pick roller got the scanner back to picking only one sheet at a time. I wish it had lasted longer than a year but I'd been warned that they wouldn't. I took off a star for longevity but they do help keep the Scansnap humming along.

Fixed My ScanSnap Myself!
The pads broke off my Fujitsu ScanSnap Scanner and I thought I would have to replace the entire device. After doing some internet searching, I discovered I just needed to replace this part! I purchased these off the internet and figured out how to replace. The package did not come with instructions, which would have been nice but I was able to figure it out and saved myself a few hundred dollars for now by repairing instead of replacing!

Worked like a charm...
My ScanSnap unit was consistently jamming and pulling down multiple pages at a time. It became unusable. Replacing this part rectified the issue and now it can scan a stack of paper as if it were new again. Some types of paper are still a little problematic but that has always been the case and it has been an issue for other types of scanners as well.

Works as it is supposed to, scanner is like new
In A NutshellMy ScanSnap S510M started having trouble feeding multiple page documents a few years ago. Since most of the documents I scan are one page, it wasn't much of an issue. In the 9 years I've had the scanner, I never replaced the pick roller or the pad assembly (they recommend doing this yearly), so I guess I got decent life out of my last pad assembly. The Good Parts* Easy to install* Works well - after replacing this and the pick roller my scanner is like newCould Be Better* Pricey for a piece of plastic with a couple of rubber padsTips* The pick roller is the more important consumable to replace for the sheet feeder. Once the pick roller loses its grip, it'll have trouble feeding. In my opinion, it's best to replace the pick roller AND the pad assembly at the same time.
