Alone With You in the Ether

Breathtaking!
One of the best books that I have read in my life so far. The writing is reflective of a neurotic state of mind—word-heavy, lyrical, dense. This story was so beautiful that I don't know what to do with myself. FELT.

Newness.
She loves change, she lives for it, she does not want any two days in life to be the same. He loves repetition, studies maths, teaches it. She has a boyfriend her family disapproves of, the bf knows she will screw around but will always come back to him. Her shrink is not amused. He finds the number 6 very odd, he has also noticed that perfect circles dont exist in nature but hexagons do. He studies time travel, has messy curly hair wears the same thing every day. She is a docent in a museum. Their paths cross and their story is the premise of this whole book. They decide to have five conversations. The most interesting thing in the book is she, her character fallibility. This is a most unusual book. That is not to say it is a particularly good or great one. My favourite part in the book is when she has 4 minutes to kill and she decides she will…Also you shoudl read this book because it is highly unlikely that within the confines of your beautiful remaining life you will have such curious conversations with someone. Its kinda romantic but at times unforgiving over intelligent. Also deals with emotions in a flimsy girly way. As a man i was amused but not won.

Dazzlingly philosophical romance ✨
(Voluntarily reviewed a physical copy of the book on For The Love of Fictional Worlds)For a non-STEM human like yours truly; I somehow find peace in reading romances with STEM foundations that have me a blubbering mess 🥹•I haven’t yet read Atlas Six Duology (Series?); but I had heard the hype around it, so like it or not, I actually went in with a whole lot of expectations and boy, did I love reading this beauty 🥺•You have to pick this one up, if you like✅ Opposites Attract✅ Somber Heroes and Wild Heroines✅ Wistful Writing Style✅ God Awfully Imperfect Protagonists✅Philosophically charged banter✅ An Imperfectly Adorable Romance•I swear, Aldo had my heart within the first few pages of meeting him and Reagan had my “ever forever friendship” for her wildly chaotic behaviour and thinking style! ✨•I know a new book by @olivieblake is out today; and I already have pre-ordered but gosh darn it, pick this one up if you are in the mood to be enchanted ✨🫰🏼

It is a must read if you like complex love stories!
Alone with you in the ether is the story of two people (Regan and Aldo) falling in love. Simple? Yes. But this is one of the most complex love stories I have ever read and I was in love with every word written.Regan and Aldo have regrets, have issues, they have felt broken, done things that don’t make much sense to others, but then their paths cross each other and everything goes silent, their mind, the noise around them. It’s not that things start making sense suddenly, because it’s still messy, but it all becomes worth it to go through with each other. If it means they get to enjoy each other’s presence. This book is a well of vulnerability and portrays the art of a human mind. It becomes even better when these human minds and souls come together, and are mixed like swirls of colour, erasing all boundaries of what love can look like.It is a must read if you like complex love stories!

This is what I have been looking for!
Book reached me in pristine condition. Full marks for delivery and packaging. As for the book, I live for books like these, where the conversation between the protagonists is outer-worldly and makes you ache with angst and longing, and want. Though parts of the book feels pretentious, I can't help but appreciate Olivie Blake for trying new literary devices.

Loved the story, disappointed with the physical book!
Absolutely LOVED this book. I couldn’t put this down! The writing style was immaculate. It was poetic yet realistic. The dialogue was so sharp and the characters just seemed so real. I loved how the POV would change in a subtle way so that you always felt like you had the most intimate read on a character. It was truly brilliant. I loved every word! However… I am quite disappointed with the physical book itself. The writing on the front cover’s title and the back cover’s book description is blurry and seems to be low quality. The design on the book’s spine seems to be misprinted… one side of the spine is empty and the other side bleeds onto the cover.Despite that, the story was great and I’m still happy to have a physical copy of it. I just wish the printing & binding of the book was a bit better quality!

Hard to put a finger on it, but it changed me
It’s a great love story, I could not put it down. It’s different, sometimes difficult to follow but in a good way. It reminded me to live more

A Beautiful Slow-burn Love Story About Loving Even When You're 'Broken'
Alone With You In The Ether has captivated me in a way that no romance novel has before. It is beautiful, literary, philosophical, magical without being fantastical, romantic, and intimate. It feels like baring a part of your soul to another, it conveys the intimacy that comes with a conversation with someone who doesn’t simply listen to what you’re saying because listening is the easy part. It conveys the feeling of the intimacy that comes with someone who engages with what you’re saying no matter how little they understand what you’re talking about simply because they find it- you interesting. It conveys the feeling of letting someone into your space, and allow them to get to know you- not the façade you might put up, but the real and the messy, even if it’s done inadvertently because they see you, see through you.Alone With You In The Ether is one of the best romances I’ve read in a long time and I will continue to think about it for a long time. It’s a truly underrated book that I want to recommend to everyone I know. It’s a book that made me think deeply about love, life, time, and art. It’s a literary romance in the best sense of the word and because it is a romance novel, there is a happy ending, or as happy as it could be given the personalities of the characters. But it is a happy ending.I really do highly recommend this book. It’s a lovingly told love story with two flawed, but deeply fascinating characters at its center and a message that just because you have issues doesn’t mean you can’t love or you don’t deserve love. It’s literary, philosophical, intellectual, and romantic. No other book has left such an impact on me. No other book made me reread after I finished it. It quickly became my favorite book and it surprised me in such a good way that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully articulate.
