Great little pump, as others have stated and advice I took adding a couple 1/8" rubber or vinyl washers to the sides of the handle connections worked great and helped it to pump smoothly. I didn't try it without them since I read other reviews saying to add them but you can tell it would be a hassel without them. The adaptors they send are an excellent addition didn't have to go searching for parts to connect the pump which is appreciated.

Fyi.. check ur size and bring the adapter to your local hardware store..not all PVC will fit.. it's a metric type..ur better off just purchasing an US standard measure screw 1in adapter at ur local store, like i did. But this pump works! Let me tell you!! ! I was not expecting it. It been in the elements alone for a while now..and it holds ! U can attach a hose clamp or a PVC clamp to the pump nozzle if u need to extend the spout.. I did.. I can now give my pets water at ground level. U won't be upset. Just remember..ur gonna need to buy the 1 inch pvc screw adapter if ur in the USA. The one it comes with..did not fit any known USA PVC diameter. But I like it. Compared to the ones on the market . No rust. No issues..strong..and HAS EXTRA seals..!! U won't be upset. Even the base mounting is solid with no breaks.

This is the second one of this type of hand pump I have purchased through Amazon. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is I did have to do some adjustments to the lower check valve, by loosening the screw and positioning it properly over the intake hole. That aside I do like the new design where the mounting holes are a single piece of the bottom of the pump that is an improvement. I have seen others reviews stating that the welds would interfere with the pump packing, although that is a raised weld it does not interfere with the full stroke of the pump under normal usage. I really appreciate the added packings and check valves that are included with this pump. All in all I would recommend this pump and would buy it again.

Simple design that works as advertised. On advice of other reviewers I shimmed the pump handle with washers which worked fine. I opted for the stand and mounted it to a 24"x24" board I picked up (pre-cut) at Home Depot. While I was there I bought some brass reducers to neck the input down for use with a garden hose. I haven't used it yet in my actual well so I can't speak to it's ability to lift water from 20 or 25 feet but it certainly worked great pumping water out of my sink. Don't forget, pump has to be primed before each use. Just pour a little water (a cup or so) into the open top of the pump then start working the lever. Comes with extra leathers and flaps so rebuilding it when needed (simple to do) won't cost anything.

The inner portion where the suction is happening has weld sticking out causing the rubber to get damaged with every pass. It would give this thing a month use before the rubber seal tares more resulting loss of suction. I’ll be returning it

I am more than just pleased, I am surprised. This little jewel works great, and was simple to install. It pumps about 1 pint per stroke (or 7 to 8 strokes per gallon) and I am drawing water from about 22' depth, which is close to the practical range for any hand pump. It works smooth, and the extended handle gives more leverage making it easy to use. The only thing to take note of is that it is threaded for 1" pipe, and most well pipe is 1 1/4", so I had to go to the hardware store and buy the necessary connectors. No big deal, just not clear in the add for this. If you just need a pump and are not interested in "looking good" this is the pump for you. Way better than those cast iron monsters.

SHINY NEW PUMP...NO! Well, had big hopes for this pump, so I was very disappointed to find that it was damaged in the box...no packing material between the thin cardboard box and the pump inside...box was marred on the outside, and the plunger cylinder on the inside was deformed enough to prevent the internal plumger from moving freely. Hard to tell if it was damaged by something external or the pump handle which was loose in the box. Also, and this is a small thing, but it did not come "bright and shiny" as pictured in the item description...lots of dark areas that were not polished. I would polish it myself to improve cleanability and appearance if it was actually delivered in working order. Generally, the build is good and the various components seem to be of good quality, but I have not been able to test function due to the damage as delivered...tune in later for UPDATE if I'm able to review a functioning example.

Awesome for price and the extra parts are definitly a plus. Three months later with everyday use and am still using the first set of original back flappers.
