I bought this compressor (the 10020CAD model) to replace a ten-year-old Porter-Cable pancake compressor that I can't keep a working and non-leaky regulator in. It goes through regulators like Elon Musk goes through ketamine.This compressor is 20dB (yes, 20dB!!!) QUIETER than the Porter-Cable. For those of you who don't know how the decibel scale works, that is 100 TIMES QUIETER.I will note that the short vent hose supplied for the auto drain is painfully loud to be near when the auto-drain opens. So do yourself a favor, buy twenty feet of 8mm PTFE or urethane hose, and route the drain vent outside or down into your crawlspace or anywhere you don't have to hear it.I went to use mine again about a week ago and it wouldn't turn on. I thought it had a fault. It turns out that the reason it wouldn't turn on was because in six weeks sitting there, it had not leaked down to its auto-turn-on pressure yet. After six weeks there was still about 110 PSI in the tank. It doesn't switch on until tank pressure drops to about 92-93 PSI (and turns off again at around 123-125). So if it won't turn on and the pressure gauges are reading above about 95, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG, it just doesn't think it NEEDS to turn on yet.I am SERIOUSLY impressed by this compressor.

Compressor came very quickly. It was delivered by an Amazon truck with two drivers. They placed right in front of my garage, as I asked.Unit was double boxed with foam top and bottom and inside a plastic bag. No damage whatsoever.Assembly is easy (two wheels and two feet). Helps to have a #3 Phillips head screwdriver for the wheels. Would have preferred a hex head bolt, but no big deal.Screwed in the inlet filters (only hand tight), plugged it in and turned it on. It went right up to pressure and held it. 20 minutes from opening box to getting compressed air.Very satisfied so far.

Compressor is a fine, quality item. Delivery was terrible. Box was left upside down as the top had been opened and then taped shut. There was also a foot long rip in the side of the box. I was close to just having thm cme back and send another, anticipating damaged compressor, but it was OK and still had wheels and hardware package inside.

This is my second CAT compressor, I like them for their low noise and good CFM per dollar.Being oil and cooling fan free, the alum heads get hot. I do not want a cracked head so called the mfgr to ask what the duty cycle or max head temp is. Nothing is published. They were very cagey and said "if you run it for an hour let it rest for 20 min". So 100% duty for an hour? No, they later said "70/30 is the max but we recommend 50/50". Given that I've seen some people complain of cracked or warped heads, one would really like to know. I am going to use common sense but this bugged me a bit. That said, I like the compressor a lot. I'm not sure why upgrading to 240v makes it so much more expensive, but I did and I'm pleased with it. Packaging and shipping were top notch. The drain is not hard to access if you tip the unit while you reach for the drain.

We purchased this compressor to use with a pneumatic filling machine in our warehouse. Because we share the building with other businesses, we needed the quietest equipment we could get so as not to be a nuisance. Very pleasantly surprised that it is so quiet! The manual we received was for the version without the automatic drain, so had to Google the product to determine how to correctly connect the drain (not mechanically minded here, but can usually figure it out). All in all, we are very pleased. We have run a half dozen projects with our new filler and the compressor and feel confidant the neighbors aren't going to hate us due to the noise! Didn't even shop price because we needed speedy delivery so not sure how it compares as far as $$ to other vendors.

Junk won't run very long before thermal overloads trip on the motor. The motor gets extremely hot and shuts it down only positive thing is it is quiet.

This tool lives up to every claim, every promise and every hope. When I first installed it and experienced its very first run time I stood there laughing! It is so quiet! My woodworking shop is in the basement of my home, and if I forgot to shut down the compressor be fore going to bed it would wake us all in the middle of the night when the pressure had bled down.There is no such problem with this one for several reasons:+ It holds pressure - does not bleed down, and therefore run, when not in use.+ The tank capacity is sufficient, so it seldom needs to run even when in use.+ It's quiet!I've been using it for about 4 moths and all I can say is get one!

The best air compressor I've owned. Can actually still hold a conversation while the motor is running!
