Only way to Hanon
People discourage Hanon these days because there is a culture of overdoing it and playing the exercises with only the fingers, leading to injury.Faber has given excellent guidance for a curated selection of exercises, including healthy wrist motion so you practice with relaxed technique. They also provide preparatory exercises for each Hanon selection to reinforce the relevant motions. This brings out the value in Hanon and makes it very useful even in the 21st century!

Favorite Hanon Edition
Hands down my favorite edition of Hanon to use with late elementary to early intermediate students. I love that Faber adapts the Hanon exercises to focus on specific efficient motions and gestures. Its very effective for reducing tension, and I especially love that there are video examples linked on the pages with QR codes.

Excellent resource
I bought this book hoping that it would help with the tension in my hands, arms and shoulders when playing. I was amazed at the improvement after a week. My teachers I had when I was young never discussed tension. Faber's Adult piano course and this book have really helped me to fill in the gaps in my instruction and technique.

It's nice to have a book that tells us how to play 21st century technique when most of us, no matter how young, were trained in 19th or early 20th century technique.

Five Stars
I didn't learn this technique until I studied in College. Wish I had known about it sooner.
