First let me say that the light is terrific. I use it for succulents and it illuminates well and really made a difference in their growth. It even comes with a cable harness to hang it on a hook. The first light I bought simply stopped lighting up after about 4 weeks, though the panel showed power. Customer service was outstanding and they shipped me a new light promptly. So what's not to love, right?Immediately upon arrival, I plugged in the new light, turned on the switch, and ... POP, one bank of lights went dark. Literally, I heard a pop, suggesting that something blew. And it blew immediately after arrival. I have now written to the customer support people, the ones who were previously so helpful, three times and have gotten no response. Not a single peep from them. I now have two worthless paperweights

After 2 weeks of using. I will be returning. Wasn't as bright as I thought it would be and the timer is very annoying, has to be set when you want it to turn on. Example. If you want it on at 3am, you have to wake up at 3 am and set it for a 18/6, no way of inserting the CURRENT time.

I am running 5 different 300w LED lights. None of the others has this built in timer feature. So I use this one as a standalone light for use it different stages and areas of my grow. This particular light has an additional opaque looking plastic (maybe) lens directly over the LED's. I believe that lens is designed to provide a better PAR value than the other LED's that I have.The timer is very easy to understand and set. Very clear legible readout. Again, there is no complicated setup here, it's super easy to use the timer function.Very solid looking build. All switches and connections are solid. Comes with a cable kit for hanging - this kit looks more than adequate for supporting this light.I have not used this for long enough to give and experienced opinion on it's effectiveness, but it certainly appears brighter or at least just as bright as my other four 300w LED lights.This fan has one large cooling fan that provides excellent airflow for very efficient cooling. The fan runs with the same sound level as any mid-range computer muffin fan.You cannot daisy-chain this light with others as there is no extra outlet on it and it needs to stand-alone in order for the timer to function. If you run on an external timer it will not turn on with that timer, it must be turned on manually with the timer control buttons. this doesn't affect my usage as I did not purchase to daisy-chain.Overall a very good buy and I highly recommend.

I've had this light for 8 months, running on a 18/6 schedule for growing basil, celery, onions, parsely, and cilantro all under this thing at a distance of about 20" from the greens. This is the only light I've been using and it works great. The light spectrum is simple, but very effective, focusing on the reds and whites, and it shows in the light, which emits a sort of whitish purple rather than the deep purple of other lights. The unit doesn't have great amazing heat dissipation, but the unit doesn't seem like it would ever get hot enough to damage itself, so care for the temperatures in your growing area. Radiant heat is a definite issue, so check that airflow around your plants. The timer function is great, even though it doesn't have an internal clock. If it did, they could program it to resume/continue the clock during an outage, rather than forcing you to go turn the lights on, and then wait until the time you desire your lights to be on to set the countdown to dark period. A few LEDs started flickering after this time, but the company helped me solve the problem even after they stopped selling this model. I hope they start doing something similar soon.Pros:- Durable and original build design. Feels stronger than any light I've held in the past- Light output is great, hard to measure LEDs in lumens but compared to similar lights it looks accurate. I'll test with a meter at some point- Timer function is basic, but functional- Special Lens for increasing PAR surprisingly effective- Great customer serviceCons- Larger/wider bezels than necessary for a common 8"x5" panel size- Heat dissipation could be better- Light escapes through heat vents- No internal clock on timerComparison:This light is much brighter than say, the Roleadro 138W and comparable to the MarsHydro 300W, but still brighter. Other lights rarely have timers, especially not digital ones. This design had durability in mind, and I don't expect a physical drop to impact this thing (though I'm not fool enough to try). This is a super original light, one I was glad to see on the market, but it seems like it's not being sold anymore. Hopefully the engineers at ACKE can continue designing new lights.

Two of these and a few desk lamp helpers for the dark corners yielded 6 medium sized plants. Total take was about 2 Oz per plants. Great value, have only done one full cycle almost done number two have been working well for 6 months.

Broke after a month and half the panel flickers buy a better light for the extra ten or so dollars and a separate timer don't waste your time and money on this
