I didn't expect the ads to be true, but this camera far surpassed the ads and my expectations
I was only hoping for half the advertised hype in this camera's description. After being burned so many times and "making do" with so many other cameras, I was quite surprised that I was able to purchase a camera for 1/3 of the price I typically pay for cameras.PROs: >The picture coming out of this camera not only looks good, but when connected to test equipment, competes with some broadcast equipment.>No IRE overshoots.>No oversaturated colors on vectorscope.>Chip charts are right on.>Modulated stair-step from chart is linear.>What really makes this camera stand out is its ability to faithfully render an advanced Pantone color chart.>No color flare in lens>Excellent lens match to image sensor. Focus stayed sharp over full scan and from top to bottom of frame. But what about IR pics at night? This camera was an unexpected and pleasing surprise. IR images were actually "crisp" as described in the ad. I could even count the blades of grass around the base of the mailbox.Although it won't beat a REDs, it's pretty close, and its's a couple hundred thousand cheaper.Cons: As with all manual focus/zoom cameras I've encountered, there is almost an eighth of a turn of "play" before the focus begins to change when the adjustment is turned in the opposite direction. This is not a deal breaker, just an annoyance. What really is an annoyance is the fat that both the zoom and focus adjustments are allen screws, and both were painted with white paint, resulting in having to scrape away some of the paint by rocking the provided allen wrench slightly as you pushed it into the zoom and focus adjustments. In conclusion, I have to say that these replaced 2 GW motorized zoom cameras, and at 1/3 the cost, these cameras are far superior in resolution, color, OSD performance, and especially under IR illumination. These cameras have the sharpest image of any "night vision" cameras I have seen, and the daylight performance allows me to capture licence plates on moving vehicles with no problem.Update 8/14/2017Ordered 8 more to upgrade 3 yr old Lorex security system. These cameras blow away the OEM cameras, especially at night. I found that the default settings were actually the best. These are the first cameras I didn't have to tweak. They just plain workerd right out of the box.Update 8/15/2017The cameras are shipped with the top shade slid all the way back, allowing rain and bird sh*t to soil the lens. This shade needs to be gently loosened by prying the sides away from the camera body with a screwdriver a fraction of a millimeter, to allow the shade to be gently slid forward. See pictures below ---- Picture on left was taken after I slid the top (shade) forward. Picture on right showing the IR illuminators was taken when I first installed the camera, before I realized the shade was slid back. The shade I would not budge until I took a screwdriver blade and gently loosened it. This was not mentioned in the manual.Btw: This camera comes with all tools necessary for installation, including a good quality Phillips #1 stubby screwdriver and Allen wrench.

This is a Great Camera (Best of many I tried) for DVR Video setups using BNC Connections
This is by far the best camera value for a DVR based BNC style security system. I have tried a few different offerings and this camera I am now back to purchase for the 4th time. I am replacing many of my Swann 4k HD high end cameras with these where I am able to supply adequate power for the run. This camera is somewhat power hungry and cheap cables run more than 80 to 100 feet or more might require a power supply closer to the camera or upgrading to a higher quality cable (I have great success with a 300 foot run of (see image from Amazon) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5NEBPB from Amazon as well, which works well with the power supply at the DVR.The day and night vision is the best I have found yet (see photos). The camera comes set for AHD and wide angle but it is easily adjustable to TVIHD, etc. and the lens can be manually zoomed in and refocused. I have generally just kept the default settings and it is a wonderful field of view with clarity.I am using this with a Swann 4k DVR with absolutely no issues. I also connected them to a ZOSI DVR system and it worked as well. The camera build and mount is of excellent design and materials, better than any others I have seen. They include a screwdriver in the box for adjusting the mount and an Allen wrench for the zoom and focus. Out of the box, the cameras I have received were already focused to wide view.Bottom line: One of the best built, quality DVR camera using BNC connection available. This is absolutely the best camera from the many I have tried out. The next closest is the Swann 4k cameras with PID, but no adjustable field of view and although the Swann has very good night vision, the Bright Clear Night Vision camera has phenomenal night vision. Buy this for one camera (like I did) and you might find yourself ordering more because the better vision (day and night) will stand out on the screen as compared to your existing cameras. Using quality cable is essential to getting high performance cameras to work at long run lengths if you have a 12 volt 5 amp adapter - see cable example in photo This camera rocks!!!!!!!!
