Attractive knife, overbuilt construction, excellent price
ProsBlade centered and sharpStrong detent, fast deploymentNice fit and finishThe handle is well designed( no hot spots)Built like a tankNice feel in my hand, fairly heavy"I like that" nice jimping.ConsFor people who need light knives, I doubt you would like thisQuality control on this line of models (The Manifold and the Lifter) is inconsistent. I had to send back a few knives to get one that was set up right.

KERSHAW MANIFOLD FOLDER
Kershaw speed safe knives open quickly , never malfunction , are sharp out of box and hold an edge very well . Nice looking and good for edc . Quality for price is very good , most Kershaw lower cost knives are made in china . I have several & never had a problem with any . I think the speed safe system is the best on the market , opens real quick with one hand.

Great knife, great customer service
Great all around knife. I have to sharpen it at home to make it sharper, but came from the box plenty sharp. It fits great around my hand, but a little slippery if I wear my gloves (normal Mechanix gloves). I thought about putting a small piece of hockey tape or similar for better grip when wearing gloves. The knife feels solid, although there's a tiny little play around where it pivots, but it doesn't affect performance when using it. And it's a little too heavy for EDC (at least for me).I have to give its customer service some props. I lost TWO of the little bolts that hold the knife together. They just worked themselves loose and fell out. What can I say, I abuse my stuff! I read their FAQS and it seems like a common problem, because they recommend using loctite to keep the bolts from backing out again.Anyway, I wrote them and ask for the replacement bolts, and they came within 2 weeks. For free. I happen to have blue loctite at home, so the bolts on my knife shouldn't back out ever again.

1303BW—Good Low Cost Pocket Knife
I'll mention up front that the clip is right side, tip-down only as that might be a deal breaker for some. Also, note that this is a frame lock knife. One of the pictures for this item shows a liner lock knife (at the time of this review). Also, you should check out Kershaw's 1301BW and 1302BW, as they are similar. If you like the 1302BW, keep in mind it may be more difficult to sharpen. The knife blade is 3.5 inches long and the knife is 4.5 inches closed. The weight is 5.6 ounces which some might find a bit heavy (I don't). The handle is 7/16 of an inch thick and fits well in my jeans with the deep carry clip. I consider it an acceptable size for every day carry. Your mileage may vary. The lanyard hole is 5/32 of an inch in diameter. The Torx screws are T6 and T8, but I haven't had the knife apart. Overall construction is very solid. This website and Kershaw's did not mention blade steel so I emailed Kershaw's customer support. They identified it as "3Cr" (3Cr13 perhaps?). It is a budget steel and that has been my observation while using this knife the past two months. It's not going to hold an edge like a more expensive steel.I was pleasantly surprised with the ergonomics of the knife. The slight finger groove and handle shape are very comfortable in my hand and provide for a good grip. I should mention that the jimping is not very aggressive; some people prefer more aggressive jimping, I don't.Deployment is excellent. The SpeedSafe system deploys perfectly via flipper or dual thumb studs. As for fit and finish, the blade was dead center with, more importantly, zero blade play. One surprise was the factory sharpening. It was not very sharp and the bevel was off. Instead of 20 degrees / 20 degrees it was approximately 10 degrees / 30 degrees. I re-profiled and sharpened the blade, but other people may have found this much more annoying. I suspect this is unusual, and that this just slipped through their quality control.I think the aesthetics are fantastic. This is a great looking knife that feels great in my hand. For me, the downside is the blade steel. If you plan to use a knife heavily, you really should invest more (IMHO). On the other hand, if you need something for lighter use, or just want an attractive EDC (every day carry) made by a great knife company, this could be just what you're looking for.

Kershaw Manifold Knife
This is an awesome knife. I love the spring assist and the look of the blackwash finish, and you can't beat the price. It is rather bulky which makes it feel sturdy in your hand but isn't the best for slimmer pockets such as in jeans. Also, you can tell it doesn't have the most rigid construction due to its being made in China, but it has survived everything I've put it through so far. At only $20 it's a steal.

but I honestly love the extra weight
This knife is a bit heavy, but I honestly love the extra weight. It's so solid too that you never worry about breaking it. I actually owned the predecessor with the more vertical stripes on the grip. As a very irresponsible knife owner and an avid do-it-yourself'er I had used it as a knife that required very little sharpening to hold an edge and as a stand-in hammer. Still the last one lasted for about 4 years and this one is made at the same quality.
