In a league of its own (VERY hot)
I've had a lot of hot sauces, but this one really is something else. Usually I go for the sauces with Carolina Reapers, as they are said to be the hottest peppers on Earth. I have a bottle of Blair's Ultra Death (made from these peppers), which is supposedly over 1 million Scoville units. Having gotten comfortable with that sauce, I expected Mad Dog 357 (at 357,000 Scoville units) to be a piece of cake. Boy was I wrong. This sauce is different. Other sauces have spice, but this one has a kick. That is, a drop of this hits you immediately as though you've just been kicked in the face. After that initial wave (which often induces coughing), you'll feel the lingering heat ramp up. My lips often get pins and needles from this sauce, which very rarely happens to me in quite the same way from other sauces. All of this happens from just a single small drop. If you want a sauce so hot that it will leave you in pain, this is it.Beyond the extreme heat though, this sauce also tastes great. It has a deep, slightly fruity (from the Habaneros), peppery taste. The combination of the unique heat and great flavor earns it 5 stars for me, though I'd be careful about giving it as a gift to someone, since it's just that hot.

Died from deliciousness!
This sauce is wonderful!Bought it for a friend of mine as he is into hot stuff, the hotter the better he says. So, I went to his home a few days ago and his wife made some soup, and I asked if he tried it yet.He said, nope too scared, so I said, break it out and we both added 1 drop to the soup.I was pleasantly surprised by how 1 drop ramped up the hotness to just the right level! As one would expect the more bites I took the hotter it got, but it did not get to the painful level. Was also surprised at the nice flavor as well. So, I would give this sauce a 10 stars if there were 10 to give!Who knows maybe one of these days I will add to 2 drops to a bowl and see what happens. :-)Please READ THE LABEL if you are new to really hot sauces, as this one is HOT. No joke!I usually use El Yucateco Chile Habanero hot sauce the green one you see here in soup, on burgers, to make bean dip etc.. and put maybe a dozen drops in a bowl of soup. Really nice flavor. It is rated 8500 on Scoville and this stuff is rated 357,000 That is 42 times as hot. So please be careful!Enjoy!

Mad Dog 357 redefines heat
I'm a fan of spicy foods and sauces, but Mad Dog is on a whole different level. The first time I tried it, I didn't even register the sensation as heat; instead, it was like someone had beaten my tongue with a hammer. The pain lasted for hours. The next day, I tried it again, but only put a drop into my bowl of beans and corn. It was still too much. I spent a month trying, unsuccessfully, to build my tolerance to it or to find a way to enjoy it. Even dipping a toothpick into the sauce and stirring it into my meal resulted in such intense heat that it was all I could taste. The pain simply never gave way to the burn I was looking for, and I was about to give up on it.Finally, I decided to mix up my own sauce. It's nothing sophisticated: some tomato-based Ortega, a generous portion of Marie Sharp's delicious Habanero sauce, a splash of Truff Hotter Black Truffle Hot Sauce, and a few drops of Mad Dog. The results were magical. Smoothness, rich flavor, and heat. So, so much heat.As far as I'm concerned, this stuff is about as edible as napalm straight out of the bottle. However, if you get creative with how you use it, it's an absolutely brilliant ingredient.

There is a sweetness that I've not seen mentioned and the heat lingers and spreads
As a fan of Hot Ones I thought I'd try this classic from earlier seasons at the hotter end of the spectrum. I really wanted to know what the guests were experiencing. I got my bottle last night and just dabbed it with my fingertip at first- instant tears and nose running. The heat hits you fast, then mellows, slightly, and then rebounds like hellfire. I felt it in all of my mucous membranes. I had happened to make crab cakes for dinner and I wondered how it might play off a cool and creamy tartar sauce, so I mixed a couple drops with some butter and used it as a spread before the tartar sauce. It was delicious and added a nice kick. It definitely builds. Today I thought I'd experiment and mix a couple drops into some mayo for a turkey sandwich. One drop would have sufficed. I had to scrape some off and add more mayo. I'm still on fire. My ears are on fire. I finished nibbling carefully on this sandwich well over a half hour ago.I think if one were very careful with adding drops, it could make an amazing and unique spicy mayo with lots of uses. One note I haven't seen mentioned in the reviews yet- you can taste the cane extract, and it makes it sweeter than you'd expect. When I first tasted it, I thought it was cinnamon or cloves. So depending on how you want the predominant flavors to taste, this might not be for you. Despite the extreme heat, this sweetness comes through pretty strong. I prefer a more sour, vinegary, or limey flavor so just keep that in mind, YMMV.

Great sauce! Flow restrictor would be nice though
Great sauce. Classic. One of my favorite all-around sauces. Would be really great if it came with a flow restrictor insert to allow for more controlled pours. Given tabasco does this, given how much hotter this is, it would make sense to have the same or more control. I’ve ruined plates by pouring too much accidentally, and have purchased my own inserts for Mad Dog bottles, which I highly recommend anyone reading this does, as it greatly improves the experience, while keeping the bottle clean enough to put in my backpack (another downside of no restrictor is the sauce dripping down the side of the bottle and then spreading onto surfaces and skin).
