I love this product very much. I wear hearing aid, but suffering from my dog's balk sometimes. This product solves my problem. This product has three functions which is easily controlled by a on/off/volume controller. When you turn it off, it is a good muffler. When you turn it on but at minimum volume, you can listen music from PC or TV (connected thru a standard audio cable provided) without hearing any sounds surrounding you. When you turn it on and adjust volume you may listen your music as usual when connected to PC or TV and also simultaneously listen to sounds around you like talking to my wife; if not connected to PC or TV, it is like a hearing aid. Sound quality is not my concern, so it is OK to me. You may adjust the headphone clamp by stretching or squeezing until you feel comfortable. So, it is not an issue to me either. The audio cable is about 1 meter length, great for connecting to a portable PC, but may be short for TV. A good designed product.

If you are looking for something that sounds decent and blocks outside sounds then this is for you. If you are looking for Beats by Dre type of bass and amplified volume control then this product is NOT for you. It works well, comfort is great. It's size adjustable. Got my mother one for Christmas (she alone at night in a haunted house) and She LOVES these headphones. I like to use them when I'm meditating. I sleep like a baby. When I say they block sound, I mean you cannot hear anything else lol. If I could change one thing it would be the sound. For me needs more volume I like my music LOUD! 8/10

I like the clear sound. I bought these because I have trouble hearing, even with hearing aids. These fit nicely over the head. I can leave my hearing aids in and use this to hear better. I love them, I can finally hear again. They work great. I would recommend them to anybody that has trouble hearing.

I suffer a hearing loss after 45 years of being a Guitarist the high level of music finally got my hearing after suffering one morning of vertigo and spinning rooms..went to the ENT and they said I had SSHL a loss of hearing in one ear so the Octicon Cros hearing aids system was my best ticket...They work GREAT for conversations, but not that great for music unless you are wearing headphones...with my personal monitoring system and these Lucid Headphones ..WOW being able to mix my Music mix and Guitar mix and with the Lucid Headphones I can even do an open air mix...these Headphones are a BLESSING from GOD....THANK YOU LUCID....I even order a second set my a drummer friend of mines....The headphones fit perfectly over my Hearing Aids without a Problem...I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

Did nothing to amplify ambient noise, only varying degrees of cancellation. I guess it's fine if you want to listen to media and be able to adjust how much ambient sound you hear. Headset is very tight on the head and earcups not well padded. Plastic body feels very brittle, doubt it could take much abuse before beginning to crack.

These are great all purpose headphones. You can enjoy the crisp clear recordings of your favourite tunes. Unplug the included 3.5 mm music cable and turn up the volume on the built in omnidirectional microphones and you have a sound amplifying head set. (I use mine as inexpensive hearing aids). And lastly turn the volume off and you have excellent ear defenders for the firing range. The only downside for me is that they are a bit tight and I don't yet know how to adjust them. Apart from that I give them 5 stars. Almost forgot! They use 2 AAA batteries, and they run for hours on rechargeable NiMH batteries.

These did not work for me at all. There was no actual volume control that sufficiently increased the volume enough for me to use.

The things that I like about the Lucid Amped Headphones (HLT-H-PH) series:(1) Two AAA batteries come with the headphones so you can start using right away.(2) If the headphones do not meet your needs as an ambient sound enhancer, then they can be used as a fairly good sound suppressor.(3) The ear muffs surrounds my ears completely keeping out ambient noise when the amplifier is turned off.The things that I do not like about the Lucid Amped Headphones:(1) The quality of the amplified sound does not come close to sounding natural.(2) The sound does not match the advertised performance for the Lucid Amped Headphones.(3) The amplified sound is more like a bucket over the head effect only louder.(4) Faint sounds are lacking in clarity or distinctness.
