This product is cheaper than Metamucil (about 25% - 33% less per ounce, depending on price variations) and contains no extra ingredients. Metamucil has artificial colors, artificial flavors, and artificial sweeteners (Aspartame), among other things. That makes this a clear win in my book.It had no bad taste, as other reviewers had experienced. I had zero issues drinking it. Sure, it doesn't have the citrus taste of Metamucil but I found that I did not miss it. Obviously taste is highly personal, so your mileage may vary but don't believe every review that says they had to choke back their gag reflex or whatever.I read the reviews before buying and a lot of people had trouble mixing the fine powder. I'm here to tell you that it's 2023 and if you're trying to stir a powdered drink mix in a glass with a spoon you're doing it wrong. Get a shaker bottle, which is designed for this. It has a small metal wire mesh ball that acts as a whisk, and a tight fitting lid that won't leak. You get a perfect mix with absolutely no clumps in 10 seconds, and there's no blender to drag out and clean afterwards. You can drink from the shaker bottle so there isn't even a second cup to wash. I recommend the BlenderBottle 20oz, it costs $9 and is perfect. I wouldn't want to fight the built-in Ziploc seal on a regular basis, although I have to say the one on this product is not as horrible as some of the others I've experienced. Still, a nice glass jar with latching lid is much more pleasant on the hands to deal with regularly.Tip: I really like a 1/4 cup (60 mL) scoop for transferring these fine powders between containers. It's large enough that you can get a good amount (especially with a heaping scoop) but small enough that it will still fit into the mouth of whatever container you're transferring to. It's much easier than trying to pour the powder out of the Ziploc bag, getting it caught in the Ziplock groove, etc. Pick up a cheap set of kitchen scoops if you don't have any, they really come in clutch.

This is a finely ground powder and has the typical psyllium flavor, as you would expect. It is about equally efficacious as other powders of a similar grindI purchase this for the purposes of maintaining regularity. I mix it about a 5:1 ratio with Optifiber - a wheat dextrin type fiber supplement which is focused more on digestive health than creating bulk. I take 2tsp - about 10g - 2x a day, one in the morning, once at night with my protein shake. A have about 1oz of water per 1g of fiber, but that's just an approximation. With the morning supplement, I don't let the fiber sit - I mix it and drink it before it thickens substantially - which means, all within 20s or so. I use room-temp water to make this easier.This works fairly well. You need to experiment to get the dosage right, and so should start with just 5g a day and work up from there. This is good for adding soft bulk, which is better for excretion in general. I've been using it for a few years now and it definitely has improved my own regularity, and helped address issues I've had with fissures and occasional hemorrhoids.This powder is as good as any other, it just happens to be a much better value per oz than you'll find just about anywhere.

I love the consistency of this product. It has no extra flavoring or sweeteners and quickly mixes in a shaker. I’ve been using another psyllium by NOW and it wasn’t ground down and was so lightweight. Great product.

I have used fiber daily for over 20 years, due to an intestinal condition. I used to use bulk psyllium from Bulk Supplements, but they have become stupid and are unable to supply it anymore, so I switched to this brand.It is course, which I don't mind, but the one thing that kills the deal for me is that it won't mix well with water. When trying to stir it with a spoon, which works fine with Metamucil and Bulk Supplements versions, it clumps and balls up and won't disperse. I finally took to hitting it with a handheld blender to get it to mix and disperse evenly.As for taste, no psyllium husk has a good flavor unless it has artificial flavorings added. But this one seems to be a bit more bitter in flavor than any other unflavored psyllium husk powder I have used.Overall, I will use up what I have, but will not be purchasing this brand again.

Excellent product, but plain psyllium tends to cake when mixing with water.In a dry glass add the psyllium powder and drink powder (Tang, Lemonade, etc...) and mix the two powders thoroughly. Once you have a consistent powder add the water and it will mix easily without leaving those floating chunks.
