Works great for what I need and easy to use

The cap/lid on the calibration fluid was cracked in multiple places. Broke apart when opened. Was tighten too much at factory. Package was in good shape. Direction for calibration was of little or no use. Good price and appears fairly accurate. Just need more calibration fluid.

Easy to use and worked well. Did 35 gallons of honey this year using this tool helped to ensure proper moisture prior to putting honey in jars. Highly recommend.

Used for measuring water content of honey. Seemed to work well. However the instructions are not clear on how to calibrate. The instructions say that the blue and white should "meet exactly on the standard scale." I interpreted that as calibrate to the center line. But you cant adjust that far. (hope I didnt damage it!) Only after reading the bottle of standard solution does it say 65%. It was probably exactly at that before I messed with it. So not sure now if its correct, because of temperature, etc. Also, there is no cleaning instructions. I hope washing the prism and flip cover in warm soapy water and drying with a soft cloth is ok.

I use this for measuring moisture content in my honey. I first checked it with the calibration drops and it it was a tiny bit under 65. I probably did not need to adjust it but I did. The percentage is easy to read and the refractometer is easy to work with. I was concerned my honey was too wet and would spoil (ferment). I borrowed a tool a few weeks ago and the honey was showing 20+%. So I poured it in a big metal mixing bowl and put it in the oven with only the oven light on for several days. When this tool came I remeasured it at just under 18%. So now I’m doing the other batch of honey. I will recommend this seller and this refractometer to all the beekeepers I know. I wish I had found this years ago!

Used for Maple Syrup. Good quality and works just as described. Instructions explain how to use and calibrate, however do not explain where to get or how to make a calibration solution to ensure accuracy. Instructions don't explain if the refractometer was calibrated when manufactured, so this missing information moves the purchasing experience from a 5 to a 4. If you purchase, be ready to source this information on your own.

great price and works great

I am a beekeeper for 43 years and bought several refractometers to take to developing countries for projects. I have never seen such an excellent quality instrument for such a cheap price. I do not know how they can do it. I gave my first one away to a honey plant in Ethiopia but I bought another because it is so much better than the one I use myself (which was five times the price).
