Perfect Replacement
There were so many part numbers to choose from, and thankfully this was the exact part. Some models require a ground wire and top freezer does not. If your current unit has a ground wire, make sure you get the right part number to match your LG model. Install would not have been intuitive. Thankfully a search in YouTube had several install videos to choose from. Start to finish, including watching the install video, 30 minutes.

The whole replacement only took about 30 minutes. I would buy it again.

Broken Ice Tray
My ice tray was cracked and so needed to replace the ice tray.This is over kill. The part number to fix broken ice tray is mjs62512902.Advertised as $20 on LG website, it states no longer available.So you have to buy this expensive part which is about 5 times that amount.Ice make would not start functioning after installing until I flipped the house AC circuit breaker.No directions provided. Video's exist installing this overkill unit.

Fits as advertised
The taped wires were off just a little bit making it not fit properly, once I figured that out went right together and works great!! With all that said the price tag is a bit heavy form what it is.

Perfect fit.
The ice maker fit perfectly and installation was easy. I wish i knew I had to press the TEST button for the machine to work. That took a while to figure out. Once test was pressed the machine started working like the original.
