There is no way I would personally use these for that. A huge maybe isn’t enough insurance for me. I would buy the move expensive gloves or carry a snake stick.

I have a lime tree with big long thorns. Are the gloves puncture resistant?

No… They will go straight through the glove.

Would these be suitable for bathing a cat, or would the water ruin them?

No, bad idea. It's not the water that's the problem it's the gloves. Once the gloves are on, you will not have a good grip on your cat.

Are these thick enough to protect from venomous snake bites?

I tried poke a needle into it and it's little bit hard to go through. But I won't trust it on snakes.
