pretty good.
i bought this, because i wanted a 6 buttons on the front for fighters, specifically 2D fighters, since the x-box 360 controller, well sucks for 2D fighters. this was also cheap too, about $15.00.anyways this controller works great!the D-pad looks weird at first, but it is very good for 2D fighters, i can easily pull of hadokens (QCF) and other movements with ease for street fighter games, and other fighting games too. however you need to press on all of the points a bit slow, like for QCFs you kind of have to roll you thumb on all of the points to pull it off (down, forward down, forward). this takes some time to get use to it, but then it just becomes second nature. also some fighting games are hit and miss with the D-pad. like the d-pad works great for street fighter 3, however there are some issues i had while playing project justice:rival schools 2, like doing 2 QCF and a punch to activate a super. i would either do i forward punch or a dash punch instead of my super. however a normal special, with just one input of a QCF works fine. the analog sticks work great too. all of the face buttons seem to work excellent too. it may take some time to get use to 6 of them if you have only used 4. there is a FPS button, however i don't have any FPSs. there are four shoulder buttons, set up much like the PSX 1 or 2, and theres also an analog button, which turns off the D-pad feature.(you press on the d-pad and nothing happens) however there are no start or select buttons, which is odd. maybe in the next one they can add them. if they did it would be THE perfect controller. although not that its a problem since most games only use 8 buttons and theres 10, so you can set it to one of the others. if you have Xpadder or some other program that does joypad to keyboard (i'd suggest looking into that stuff if you emulate stuff) you can easily set the analog button for the start button on games, however it will still toggle the D-pad on/off.the controller is bulky, but very light.the USB cord seems a little on the short side, however i'm not too far from the usb port so it really doesn't effect me at all. you also don't need software for this either, which is good.in the end if you looking for something with 6 face buttons, this IS the gamepad for you. its very good with 2D fighters, and 3D, and other genres too so get this!

Could Have Been The Perfect PC Gamepad
If Saitek would have put a little more effort into this gamepad it could have been the perfect gamepad for the PC. It has six face buttons which work well for fighting games and for use with Nintendo 64 emulators or for Genesis/Megadrive emulators that support the six button controller configuration. The two buttons in the analog sticks can be used in Playstation emulators as well, along with the four shoulder buttons. Basically it's possible to use it with any emulator and have enough buttons to approximate the experience of the original controller. However there are a few flaws that keep it from being the perfect PC gamepad.First off are the dead zones with both analog sticks. When the left analog stick is moved to the right or down it doesn't register the movement until it's been moved for a bit. It's not much but it's much more than when moving it up or left which are fairly responsive. The right analog stick is the same way except it only appears that moving it to the right has a dead zone. Installing the drivers allows for adjustment of the dead zones, but all that really does is adjust it to where all of the axis have the same dead zones and doesn't eliminate any dead zones that are already there. The direction pad has a similar problem in that it takes much more force pressing it to the right or down to get a response than pressing left or up. This can be problematic in games that require rapidly pressing in those directions.Another problem is sometimes the last input gets "stuck" and will continue being sent to the game. What I mean by this is that a button press, a press of the direction pad, or moving one of the analog sticks will continuously send that signal to the game until another button is pressed or a movement of one of the analog sticks is made which seems to "unstick" it. This can lead to deaths in platform games if you are trying to stop before a gap and your character keeps on going as if you hadn't released the direction pad or analog stick. This seems to happen about once every day or two.For the good things this pad does, as I've already mentioned it has plenty of buttons for emulator use. It also works well for GTA games (although I only use the pad to drive with and use the mouse and keyboard for walking and running around). The pad also works well for DiRT 2 although it requires some adjustments in the game to make it less sensitive. With the profile software installed I've programmed it to also function as a remote control for my PC for when I'm watching videos/movies on my television. I have a six foot long USB extension cord that I attach the controller to for TV viewing. It works well for navigating Media Center menus and for playing, pausing, rewinding, fast forwarding, and skipping chapters in movies.I've used this controller pretty much daily for almost a year now and so far it has held up, but it doesn't feel very sturdy and I feel that I may have been lucky that it's lasted this long. I gave it a three star rating, with two and a half of those stars being for game use with another half star being for it making a nice remote control. Overall I would not recommend this controller unless you're not bothered by the issues I've experienced with it.

Old controller but solid.
Love this gamepad. I've got large-ish hands so using smaller controllers (Playstation for example) for extended periods of time really cramps my hands. Got this controller in 2008, it got heavy use and around 2011, the D-pad broke (Plastic stem). I happened to have a wireless Saitek controller whose dongle I lost with an identical D-Pad, swapped this out and I'm still using the same controller today. Probably put 1000+ hours into it. Recently bought an extra one just in case this one croaks since I haven't been able to find anything else new that looks like it would fit my hands well.Good button selection and layout too.
