Tough trail shoes
I waited awhile to write a review because I wanted to really break these shoes in first. I’ve taken them on several difficult hikes so far and they’ve held up very well. They’re comfortable, offer good traction in mud, and my toes actually have room to spread out. I initially thought the shoes were too big when I tried them on, but I realized it’s actually the style of the shoe print and they’re designed to give your toes more room. I like that feature, especially when you’re hiking all day. I recently hiked in rocky steep terrain and they held up very well over roots, jagged edges, and muddy terrain. I hit the tip of my toe on a lot of rocks/roots and the toe area on these shoes protected my foot very well, and the top of the shoes have quick-dry lightweight mesh. I’m happy with these shoes, wish I had them earlier on some more strenuous hikes I did over the summer. My only complaint is the ugly color scheme. I really wish they offered more subdued colors in these shoes. The shoes say “orange” but they are more of a coral/pinkish/salmon color and really stand out like a highlighter. The more subdued colors were almost twice as much, but would hide dirt/scuffs better and not stand out so bad…but I tend to go for comfort over appearance. Just wish the color didn’t make my feet look like Ronald McDonald shoes. Overall, these are great trail shoes and seem do to the job. They can really take a beating.

A smidge small but otherwise AWESOME
I wear 8.5 in most all running shoes but my second toe is a tiny bit longer than my big toe and the first few runs it was quite sore in these.. but I had already worn them outside so I’m putting up with it. As for the shoes, they’re very comfy with the wide toe box we love from Altra.. and the grip on the bottom is SUPERB. It actually feels like they’re almost a bit STICKY on the bottom (but in a GOOD way!!) I am a winter outdoor runner and I need traction! These are awesome. They also are completely waterproof, a fact that is proven every time I have to go through a slush puddle!! Yay!

These shoes will take u there
This my third pair of altra's. The first day I had them I wore them barefoot.I have knock on wood never gotten a blister from any of my Altras. They give my wide feet space to be feet. I like that this shoe has cushion but not a massive amount, it's not like walking on a platform. The shoe it's self feels very stable and supportive. The traction allows you to walk or run and prevents slipping but is not so treaded out that it catches and holds onto things. It is also lightweight and airy.

Love love ALTRA’s!!
Now that I’ve owned & used these Altra’s since March, I have been more than pleased & so happy I purchased these.Used for hiking @3 Utah Nat’l Parks (including tough ‘Angels Landing!) - these shoes were perfect….no blistering whatsoever; comfortable in every way….especially the toe box as I have wide feet. Then I used the Altra’s (BTW, bought 2 pairs…Lone Peak 5 & 6) on the Camino Portugues Coastal trail in Spain (62 miles). Again, I could not have been happier. My 2 hiker friends had major blisters & tendonitis (did not have Altra’s) - me, NO issues whatsoever.I read Camino Pilgrim Hiker blogs - majority recommended Altra’s….their wide footprint is genius!!!

Just a slab of foam.
Liked the outsole tread and seemed to have good grip. Cute design and colors. The midsole is soft, but shapeless. Upper is loose. Too wide for my foot and caused arch pain which I had never had before. Returned.

Fit Great!
I tried all the Altras and these are my favourites. SO comfortable, light and roomy in the toes. Never needed breaking in. There is not a lot of cushioning at the ball of the foot, but it was easily fixed for me by using socks with a small amount of cushioning in the sole. I use these for walking and hiking, not for running. I got the orange ones because they were on significant sale in my size, but the color is actually quite nice - rather more on the coral side than stark raving orange.Just returned from 3 weeks hiking in Ireland and wore these every day on tow paths, hillsides, beaches and cities. They are the best! Very lightweight and comfortable. I bought the water proof version as well, but only needed them on two days (we had unusually fabulous weather). The lack of padding on the bottom was most noticeable in Dublin where I was only walking on concrete, so I switched to socks that had a bit more padding and was fine. I will be buying a pair in a less obtrusive color to wear as regular shoes.

Love the green colour
Comfortable with a wide row box. Great grips. Lightweight and fast drying.

Less arch support than LP5
My second pair of Altras, after the Duos I started out with, are the majolica blue Lone Peak 5s. Due to chronic illness and mobility issues, I don’t walk far at a time (2 mi or so), but I try to get out every day because otherwise my body throws a fit. The Lone Peak 5 was perfect for me—despite not being a super cushioned shoe, I have no problem with them exacerbating bunions and hypermobile toes that bend out of place in the wrong shoes, and are nice for rural deserted road walking as well as stomping around the yard singing Amy Winehouse. They had adequate arch support and accommodated a high instep even if my pointy heels rubbed through the back within three months. But all good things must come to an end, so I decided to order a replacement, in the form of the Lone Peak 6 (since reviews so far of the 7 are abysmal).Lone Peak 6 is not the same shoe as LP5/Alpine/ALL-WTHR hi-top (yes I have all of them, because they work).I didn’t really notice the difference in arch support until I’d worn them about 2.5 weeks on near-daily walks. I did, however, notice a precipitous increase in shin pain, from zero to 7 (and I’m really hoping I don’t have a Real Problem on my hands. feet. whatever). Last night/this morning during an extreme episode of painsomnia I gained clarity: it started when I got the new shoes. I haven’t been walking more, or more frequently. I haven’t gained weight. It’s the shoes. So if you have medium-high arches, I recommend insoles with these, or trying the LP Alpine or the first generation of the hi-tops or ALL-WTHRs. Because the LP6s are not the same.

One size smaller as expected
I normally order 7.5 and this timer I had to return my initial order for a smaller size 7.

Mala calidad

probably the comfiest shoes i've ever had
i only ordered these shoes as my partner got a Lone Peak 7 and recommended them passionately. Lone peak 6 is probably the most comfortable shoe in the world, defo the best i've ever had. Size fits perfectly, lovely wide fit, nice and soft, dont bother my heel spurs. Defo I would buy again, I will. These get used every day and I do get thru my shoes quickly in general, but will defo repurchase these for the future. Amazingly comfortable, and good track too.
