Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro 6.6" 128GB 5G Unlocked & SIM Free Smartphone

I wanted a mobile phone with a removable battery, therefore I chose this one. I understand that the phone is tougher than average, although I bought a tough case to go with it. I hope that the phone will last for several years. I shall soon buy a spare battery. Expert reviews give this phone a mediocre rating, but I like this phone’s micro-sd card socket, and removable battery.

I bought this Samsung phone for my husband as his old one suddenly stopped working. The phone arrived the very next morning- about 12h after I ordered it. I’d say you can’t get a delivery much faster than that! It came in new condition, well packed and sealed. The only downside was the charger - it was a type C charger with both ends the same. I had to buy a usb charger so that we would be able to charge the phone. My husband has been using the phone for about a month now and it is working well. He is pleased with it.

Battery life good plus it's removable. Rugged and fast. Faultless.

I sat with my order pending for 2 months as the descriptions (all retailers iirc) say it's Android 8. Since I wanted latest Android Auto, I'd need to update and select android 13 appropriate for the model that's not coming directly from Samsung. HAPPY TO SAY: it came with Android 13 pre-installed - but why can't retailers get that detail updated on their merchant sites? ( Was it ever available with 8.1?) Battery came at 60% and I was worried beforehand about either my old or new phone have the battery die in mid transfer - as no way to get charge in if direct connection ( I tried a chargeable hub but unsuccessful getting either phone to charge when linked). Used Samsung smart switch - and the good news is that I could install it on my old phone in send mode and when connections are inevitably lost (old phone a bit fragile), the process seems eminently continuable from the last activity. Leastwise I've not found an issue. I found my chargers and wall sockets were not powerful enough to stop the xcover from draining charge, so I accepted defeat, powered off and charged to 100% overnight. On continuation, I left both phones on charge and did the transfer on 5Ghz WiFi side by side ( not certain they talked directly rather than via hub, but nothing to lose😎). My old phone was nearly 128GB full and I've been skimming larger files for a few months and had backed up all media. Unfortunately, the working free space on the old phone was more than offset by the larger Samsung-Android image and so I just had to not transfer any videos. I've ordered a 45W charger and the next trick is to order a spare battery - the ability to exploit that was much of the rationale for the new phone anyway! Testing app migration for the next few days.
