Good rack, great price
Lift works great, easy to put together. I mounted the rack to a 2x6 and mounted the 2x6 to my ceiling joists using 2.5” lag bolts.

Very handy for packed garages - not just for bikes
In my last house we had about a half dozen all around the garage, just put up two in the new house and sure more will be coming. They are very handy. My main complaint is that the rope included starts to degrade in a few years, so I just replace it now with nice nylon of similar size initially. Just hung a big floor fan and a dolly up in the ceiling; I don't even have a bike! Do know how to find your trusses (or whatever) to hang them from, do not just hang in sheet rock -- they provide sheet rock anchors, but that is just asking for trouble eventually (not the fault of the rack, but hanging anything, especially something that a kid might one day pull a bit hard on, from sheet rock is just asking for an accident). They provide a LOT of holes you can use to mount to real supports, or if they do not line up put up a 2x6 attached to wood, then screw these into that.

difficult to install but works great
It was very difficult to install, but it works great and keeps my bike out of the way in the garage.

Works Great But...
Pros:The hardware seems beefy enough to support the alleged 50 pound max wait.Product works as advertised.Cons:Pretty meager instructions (see photo). No talk of securing the apparatus to a joist. No way I'm going to trust the supplied cheap-o drywall anchors for my 23-pound bike, let alone 50 pounds. I used the square center holes and drove three-inch wood screws into a joist. The head of the supplied screws strip easily (used a couple to mount the cleat to a wall).Rope started to fray immediately (I assume from going through the hole in the brake). Will have to replace eventually.

That's some pretty good weight there
Purchased this to clear up clutter in my shed. I wound up hanging a full size wheelbarrow and a backpack leaf blower from it. That's some pretty good weight there. It locks perfect and I have no issue hosting BOTH of them up at the same time by just pulling the included nylon rope. I wasn't sure the rope or pullies would be able to handle that much weight, but to my surprise, it does so with no issues. Only issue is the rope is a bit stretchy but it still works.

Sturdy and Functional
Works great to get our bikes off of our garage floor. Seems like it will last us for years to come.

Poor Quality Hardware and Construction
One of the pulleys was loose so I tried to tighten the nut. The underlying screw was stripped. I replaced both the screw and nut. The screws for mounting the pulleys to the ceiling are made of such soft metal that they easily strip out. I used my own screws. Once installed the hoist worked OK but I had problems with the rope slipping past the pulley and wedging between the bracket and pulley. This was caused by a very sloppy fit of the pulleys inside their brackets. I finally decided that the whole thing was just too poorly made, uninstalled it, and shipped it back. I really wanted this hoist to work but poor hardware and construction nixed it.

Great product that works great. Just takes some common sense to install.
Free up garage floor space with this great bike hoist. I used sheetrock screws instead of the hardware provided and I feel that provides added security. I think the instructions could be confusing for some, but overall this is a good product.

Great for bike storage.
Installed on 19.5 foot ceiling.None of these kits come with a long enough rope for my ceiling, which I don't know why. That is the only reason I deducted one star.Easy to use.Needed 13" scaffolding to install.
