NRSVue, Holy Bible, Personal Size, Leathersoft, Purple, Comfort Print

This is the second version of this Bible we have purchased for our granddaughters. They both appreciated being able to have a colorful cover. Bible version recommended by their pastor. Bible is well made, easy to read print and arrived well packaged.

This is the best Bible I’ve ever owned. Honestly, I’ve only ever had NKJV because that’s the only kind my parents let me have. Now that I have my own money, I decided to buy a translation that I find easier to understand but not to a degree that verses seem less powerful. It’s a great choice if you want a regular size Bible to carry to church or on vacations. I recommend getting tabs for each book so it will be more organized. It helped me a lot!

Like text faunt and book/paragraph sub text titles. Quality printing/binding. Two bookmarker ribbons, purple and gold. Font print is readable. Book and paragraph titles colored and larger. Footnotes are useful and well chosen, but are for clarification or alternate translations and references and not lengthy, helping to create a pleasingly annotated Bible without lengthy footnotes that I like, but sometimes distract from the biblical text narrative. A really attractive, readable Bible in which the written word is presented efficiently and center stage.

I'm a Jew in an interfaith marriage and I bought this so I could gain a better understanding of the faith my amazing wife credits with making her the kindest woman I've ever met. The translation of the Hebrew portions hews closer to the 1917 JPS Tanakh translation, but given this is adapted/updated from the KJV Christian Bible, that isn't a surprise. The overall build and quality is beautiful, and I wish more Tanakhs came with a similar build (soft, purple, leatherette cover, gilded edges, multiple ribbon bookmarks - it's a genuine pleasure to hold and read). I would say this is a must have for most Christians of the Catholic (just make sure you get the Catholic version), Presbyterian, or UCC denominations; or anyone else interested in learning more about Christianity.

I love the purple cover! The bookmark ribbons are nice and feel well attached. The paper feels thin but upon use, is thick enough that highlights with a yellow highlighter show through minimally enough to not bother me when I’m reading the other side of the page. The font for me is easily readable and doesn’t seem much smaller than many other bibles I’ve read, but it’s not certainly not large and could be hard for those who need readers. I was pleased with the suprise maps at the back of the book! I hadn’t expected them based on the listing description but they’re very nice! The gold edging on the sides of the pages adds a nice touch.

I recently switched to a methodist church and needed a NRSV Bible from the NKJV I had, so I bought this Bible. I think it's lovely. It looks and feels very high quality made. It has the typical thin paper pages that Bibles usually have. It has a lovely first page that has a spot to write who the Bible belongs to, who gave it to them, and when they got it. It also has some helpful color maps in the back! I'm very satisfied with this purchase!

Font very easy to read. Nice quality paper. Maps of the Holy Land and nearby areas very helpful.
