does this help cover grey?

It covers grey only in that it makes it a lighter (sometimes white) blonde - can be useful if you'd like the 'streaked' look

What is the trick so that when you mix the powder and shake, it doesn't bubble up? You mix the cream and you have to cut down the tip it's so thick?!

That is the one thing I really dislike about this hair dye. The powder is almost impossible to mix completely, even using the flat top on the cream developer. While applying, it frequently clogs up and then spurts or has to be cleaned out. It’s so annoying when you’re trying to be quick about the whole application process. I am sure this is the reason that so many people have a patchy, blotchy outcome. When you do manage to get it on smoothly, it is a beautiful color, however. Even in my white and graying hair. I was thinking next time I might try to mix it w/ a chopstick in the cream bottle… I think the above suggestion from susieQ333, to mix some of the cream in the powder pouch and then pour it back into the main bottle, is a good idea too!

Can i use a ultra light ash blonde to take away the horrid yellow i have been left with by using L'oreal platinum blonde or must it be ash blonde

Claire,It is normal to have yellow hair after using this product - not to panic! It's just the 1st step of your hair coloring routine. As a 2nd step, I use L'Oreal Excellance - 9A shade - light Ash Blonde to achieve platinum hair color. Ash cancels the yellow. But make sure to only apply the ash product on the hair that you bleached that are yellow. The ends of your hair are usually much light and will absorb the ash color much quicker than the roots. What I do is, apply the ash color for 20-25 min on roots only, and then quickly for the rest of the hear for 5 min only and then wash immoderately, otherwise you might end up with lighter roots and darker rest of the hair.Let me know if you have more questions.Good luck.

I have black hair. After dying it, would more hair color be like the one in the picture or...?

Long ago, I paid a fancy salon $1200 to color correct my hair from black to a level 7 blonde. Afterwards, I started dying my hair black again. I used Féria’s blue black for approximately 8 years. Note, I did my entire head every time to refresh the dark color on my ends, so I literally had years of straight black box dye build up on my ends. I decided to go lighter, and used color oops, assuming it would maybe pull me to a level 3-4. Color Oops managed to pull my hair from a level 1 to a level 6.5 on the first try - and I have super insanely thick and very long hair (had to use 3 full bottles of color oops in one sitting). My hair was rather yellow-ish after this, but fully able to be covered with an ultra light high-lift brown (basically dark blonde 6.5). I put the Féria high lift platinum on and effectively got to an 8 with no crazy streaming or blotchiness, and no further yellow. My hair isn’t fried at all (I don’t use Olaplex, But I do use some other tricks). So, it’s absolutely possible to go from pitch black to blonde with relative ease, if you know what your hair can handle and don’t push those boundaries. Moral of the story - If you’re unsure re: your hair dying prowess, hit the salon. If you’re a relatively competent and comfortable with your hair, try out your options. Just be fully prepared for disaster if it strikes (my plan was just to have crappy hair for a few weeks if things didn’t work out, let my hair heal, and re-dye with black).

Ppl, this is a toner, NOT BLEACH. This product is to use after bleaching your hair to neutralize brassy tones. Works perfect! I love it. Just hated all the reviews of ppl purchasing this product for the sole intention of bleaching when it’s not a bleach product, it’s TONER.

Took the risk of using this toner despite all the negative reviews. Clearly, some people cannot read instructions and refuse to actually take extra caution on how the toner works. It is not dye nor is it a bleaching kit. If left on for too long (ie. exceeding 15 minutes), the toner WILL turn a greyish purple and it WILL make the blonde more grey. With that said, this toner took out the most obnoxious orange brassy tones out of my hair and gave it a nice ash blonde. Waited over 3 days to use the toner AFTER bleaching my hair. It's best to wait so your hair and scalp isn't shocked with all these boxed chemicals. I've had ash blonde before so I already knew what to look for. What helped a lot was using a purple conditioner after washing out the toner and leaving that on for 5 min (as per instructions on the bottle) before rinsing completely. Worked just fine for me!

The L'Oreal company came through for me. I had ordered their product " Iced Blonde" 3 times. The first one was switched purposedly for a horrible metallic grey. I had to spend another $18.00 for color remover and another box of Iced Blonde which was not tampered with. The first one came with a somewhat crushed box but an intact seal. The color is not on the color tube inside the box. Since the seal was secure it never occurred to me someone (in shipping?) would think it cute to change the color. The second box was perfect. The color is perfect so when it came time to order number 3 I did so thinking it could never happen again. I was wrong. Same situation intact seal somewhat smashed top, I took the product and mixed a little in a plastic cup and waited. Its a 10 minute toner so nothing changed and I felt confident everything would be ok. Wrong. Ended with gun metal grey hair. I left a rating explaining my problem and the next day I got a brand new box smooth box top and all. Today I get the color remover and I am back to being a blonde again. L'Oreal came through with flying colors. This being Fourth of July weekend I thought I would have to go thru it with the horrible grey color. Thank You L'Oreal you are a stand up company. Diane Q
