The NeuroICU Book, Second Edition

Great book to study for neuro CC boards or to just enhance knowledge on the topic!

One of the best neurocritical care textbooks, definitely recommending it to neurology residents interested in NCC.

I think this is great. The content is easy to understand by presenting the case first and attaching the following explanation. This book will be useful for physians who begin to study the neurocritical care as well as those who want to study deeper.

Although this book is good, it delves too much into many conflicting studies that lead to confusion. I need more of the meat and more focus on the studies that lead to how we take care of patients today. Not that this study shows we need to keep patients fluid up, this one shows we need euvolemea, yet this one showed no difference in fluid status, but this one showed an increased risk of death in this group, etc all in one paragraph. For me, I need more meat. For others I am sure it works. It's just too much information overload right now.Secondly, with so many educated people writing this book, the editing leaves a lot to be desired. I have found quite a few grammatical and numerical errors already and I haven't finished the first ten chapters yet.Overall, it's a good book with good pictures, good case presentations and good explanations albeit too much diving into too many studies which makes me tune out some parts of it.UPDATE THREE WEEKS AND A FEW MORE CHAPTERS IN.I would like to say now that I have read more chapters, I will upgrade the 3 stars to 4 stars. Seems like only a few chapters/pages go into too much detail about too many studies. Most of the other chaptersI have read, briefly talk about a study or two but otherwise are not as confusing.However the grammatical errors and those few chapters with that quote way too many studies keep it at 4 stars. I would recommend this book.

Makes a sense topic easily accessible with case related teaching and references to the latest studies.
